2014 Ford Fusion Gets Minor Updates

BRIGHTON, Mich.- The 2013 Ford Fusion made its debut about a year ago which means its just about time for a few updates for 2014. Ford Motor Company hasn't announced any major changes to come for the 2014 Fusion so we don't expect anything drastic. But in the car's second year on the market the 2014 Ford Fusion will receive minor updates to the third generation of the vehicle.

First, the 2014 Ford Fusion will receive a smaller turbocharged engine. The current 1.6-liter engine will be replaced by a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with start-stop functionality.  All automatic transmission EcoBoost Fusions will receive the 0.1-liter displacement while manual transmission models will continue to be equipped with the 1.6-liter engine.

But the 2014 Ford Fusion's most important update will be the addition of seatbelt airbags for the back seats. Rear seat belt air bags were first offered in the 2013 Ford Explorer to protect smaller passengers, and the Fusion will receive the added safety feature for 2014.

And those interested in the Titanium model of the 2014 Ford Fusion, will be able to enjoy the addition of both heated and cooled seats plus a heated steering wheel option. However, the additions of heated/cooled seats and a heated steering wheel will not be available until later in the model year.

The Ford Fusion was completely redesigned for 2013 and while this will be just the second year for the third generation of the vehicle the 2014 Ford Fusion will get minor updates before it hits the showroom. Ford Key Fob Window Trick

BRIGHTON, Mich.- The warmer months are approaching (at least we hope they are), and Ford's newest vehicles will help you enjoy those months to the fullest. If this summer is anything like last summer we know one thing, its going to be hot. But Ford's Key Fob Window Trick will help keep you cool when it heats up!

Hate getting into a hot vehicle in the summertime? You won't have to with Ford's Global Open key fob feature! This new feature allows you to roll the windows up or down, and even roll back the moon roof if you have one! All you have to do it press and hold the unlock button on your key fob for at least three seconds and then the windows will begin to roll down. To roll the windows up, just press and hold the lock button for at least two seconds. And if you're rolling the windows up or down and want to stop them half way, just press either the lock or unlock button on your key fob to make them stop.

Ford Motor Company's Global Open key fob feature will work up to 150 feet away, so you can cool off the car before you get in on a hot summer day. Now we just need that warm weather to stick around! Ford Motor Company Is Hiring!

BRIGHTON, Mich.- The good news surrounding Ford Motor Company just doesn't seem to end! With recent news like the Ford Focus - Best Selling Car in the World, Best Redesigned Vehicle Award, and Ford Vehicles for Allergy Sufferers, it's no wonder the demand for Ford vehicles has been increasing! Specifically the demand for the new 2013 Ford Fusion has called for the addition of another shift at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant. And you know what that means, Ford Motor Company is Hiring!

The automaker confirmed yesterday that the hiring process for an additional 1,400 workers at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant has begun! The plant currently produces the 2013 Ford Mustang, but will be adding another shift later this year to accommodate the demand for the 2013 Ford Fusion. While about two-thirds of the new hires at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant will be transfers, Ford Motor Company is hiring about 400 new workers.

2013 Ford Fusion Winner

BRIGHTON, Mich.- If you're a fan of our Facebook Page, you probably saw our post this weekend about Dianna, the winner of a brand new 2013 Ford Fusion! Yes you heard that right. Meet Dianna Williamson, 2013 Ford Fusion Winner. Just like many of you out there, she started entering Ford sweepstakes for the chance to win a new car: online, at Arts, Beats and Eats, and off of the TV show New Girl. Until one day, when she received a message that she had won a new car from Ford! Dianna, who has never won anything before, didn't believe that what she heard in the message was true. Wary of falling into a scam she did her research, with Ford, at the bank, and online until she realized that she was in fact a 2013 Ford Fusion Winner!

This couldn't have come at a better time, as Dianna was just looking into buying a new car so that she could give her 2004 Honda to her 17 year old son. Ford Fusion Night Follow Up

BRIGHTON, Mich.- Last week, on Thursday, November 15th, your Livingston County Ford Dealership hosted a day-long 2013 Ford Fusion Reveal.  Part of Brighton Ford's Ford Fusion day was the test drives for charity where $25 was donated for each test drive taken! Customers got to choose which charity the donation went to: Gleaners Food Bank or the Humane Society of Livingston County.

Brighton Ford is proud to announce that in the end we stepped up the donation amount and donated a total of $1,500 to charity! We were able to donate $500 to the Humane Society of Livingston County and $1,000 to Gleaners Community Food Bank! It is a great feeling to be able to give back to our community, which we are so proud to be a part of! Thank you so much to everyone who came out and took a Test Drive For Charity!
