2013 Ford Fusion Incorporates Recycled Materials Around The World
Back in 2007, Ford Motor Company didn't use any recycled yarns in North America, and today the automaker has increased the use of recycled yarns to nearly 66% of vehicle programs! Proving their commitment to use recycled materials whenever possible, Ford uses 41 fabrics with recycled content across 15 vehicle programs around the world. As Ford continues to add global vehicle programs, their use of sustainable fabrics increases as well.
The most apparent demonstration of Ford Motor Company's commitment to eco-conscious business practices is seen in the redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion: the first global vehicle to use recycled materials. The seats in the new Fusion actually feature fabric made from recycled materials like plastic water bottles and post-industrial waste.
While it may seem like a small change, the effects of production over a year have the possibility to be dramatic. Consider this: Back in 2009, Americans generated 30 million tons of plastic waste and only recycled 7% of it. But, woven into the fabric of the Ford Fusion is the amount of plastic in about 40 clear plastic bottles. Even better, the fabric in the Fusion Hybrid is 100% recycled!
In addition to its undeniably stylish design and countless positive reviews, the 2013 Ford Fusion a top pick!
