Ford Motor Company Boosts Production To Meet Increased Demand

BRIGHTON, Mich.- Great news for the auto industry! Amid revitalized auto demand in the United States after years cost reductions, plant closings, and battles with U.S. unions, Ford Motor Company has announced they will increase production to meet demand for their cars and trucks! Increasing manufacturing and shorting summer shutdowns will help the automaker meet the increasing North American demand.

Ford Motor Company has announced their plan to boost production to meet North American demand will include shortening its usual summer shutdown at most plants. While most Ford manufacturing plants in the region normally shut down for two weeks during the summer, this year, they will only shut down for one week which will add 40,000 units of capacity.

To reach the automaker's goal of increasing North American manufacturing capacity to 200,000 vehicles, the company has added workers at both its Kansas City and Detroit assembly plants to make up a third shift. By running three shifts, the Ford assembly plants will be working around the clock, beyond full capacity, making them more efficient and profitable.

Rolling Thunder's 12th Annual Ride To Remember

BRIGHTON, Mich.- You probably know how strongly we feel about being involved in our community, and this past weekend we were honored to be involved in a truly memorable experience. We were invited to drive the Brighton Ford Army Truck in Rolling Thunder's 12th Annual Ride To Remember to support our troops and honor fallen soldiers. We cannot even put into words how moved we were by the days events.

On Saturday, May 11, 2013, we met up with Rolling Thunder Chapter 5 members and members of the Motor City Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) at Memories Lounge on Old US-23. We joined hundreds of motorcyclists in the Brighton Ford Army Truck as the procession rumbled down Grand River Avenue, arriving in Howell just before noon. The afternoon was filled with ceremonies, speeches, and song honoring Livingston County's fallen soldiers.

Our Brighton Ford family loves to be involved in our local communities and this event was definitely one to remember. It was such an honor to be a part of Rolling Thunder's 12th Annual Ride To Remember!
