BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford Motor Company works hard to incorporate sustainability into its company; whether it be changes to the actual production lines, or changes to the vehicles, Ford is constantly evolving. The latest step in this evolution process is a new vehicle in the Ford F-series, as Ford has just announced its first ever EcoBoost-powered 2014 F-150 sport truck.
This new vehicle is expected to arrive at dealerships in the fall of this year, and will offer customers an engine that achieves 20% better fuel efficiency, as well as 15% reduced greenhouse emissions. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that will be in the truck will produce 365-hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. As for the exterior of the sport truck, it has 20-inch flat-black wheels, a two-door cab, HD headlamps, and more.
Pricing for the F-150 has not yet been released, however, it will be announced closer to the actual release of the vehicle. Ford announced the first EcoBoost-powered sport truck, the 2014 F-150 Tremor, and is expecting the vehicle to do well. With over 1.74 million U.S. pickup trucks sold in 2012, and even more expected to be sold this year, the Tremor is expected to only add to the already booming market.

Ford F-150 Tops Toyota as Most American Vehicle
BRIGHTON, Mich. - The Ford F-150 has officially topped the Toyota Camry as the most American Vehicle in the Cars.com annual "American Made Index". This award comes shortly after the Ford F-150 dominated the 2013 Light-Duty Pickup Challenge, as well as its continued success as being the best-selling truck for 37 years. With so many accomplishments under it's bumper, the Ford F-150 is taking the country by storm.
The Ford F-150 topped the Toyota as the most American vehicle for a number of reasons. The American Made Index, created by Cars.com, used various factors to determine the 'American-ness' of each vehicle. Specifically, they determined where the car and its parts were built, and then how many of them were sold. Over 75% of the F-150 is manufactured in the United States; the two F-150 factories produce in Dearborn, Michigan and Claycomo, Missouri.
As for the number of vehicles sold, the Ford F-150 has done exceptionally well this year. Ford Motor Company will even be adding 2,000 workers at the F-150 factory in Missouri to continue to produce to meet the demand.

Ford Sells 33,000,000th F-Series Pickup
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Sam Loria, a 76-year old man from Princeton, Texas was in for a surprise when he purchased his 2013 F-150 Platinum truck last week, as the truck is now just as impressive to Ford Motor Company as it is to its new owner. Ford has sold it's 33,000,000th F-Series pickup and Loria is its buyer.
Having bought a Ford F-150 from the same dealership back in 1969, Loria admits this purchase was a little more impressive. Having owned 12 Ford vehicles in his life, he was shocked to discover that he now owned the 33,000,000th F-Series pickup truck that Ford has sold. A longtime Ford customer, and a true Ford fan, he is pleased to own a little piece of Ford history.
The Ford F-Series is the best-selling truck in America, and has been for the past 36 years. It is also the brand with the most trucks on the road with over 250,000 miles, and was recently chosen as the 'Best Light-Duty Pickup Truck' by PickupTrucks.com an Popular Mechanics Magazine. With these impressive stats, Ford can now add having sold 33 million of its trucks to the list.

Ford Tests Electronic Brake Light That Warns Drivers From Afar
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford Motor Company has recently been testing a high-tech brake light that would warn drivers from afar. This early warning brake light would be able to alert drivers from around a bend, or even behind other vehicles.
While it is still in the beginning stages, ideally this braking system would transmit a wireless signal to illuminate a light in the dashboard of the cars nearby. By illuminating this light, drivers would be aware of braking cars in front of their vehicle, or around a corner. This would be especially useful in busy highway situations, as people have the tendency to slam on their brakes without warning; this often causes collisions. This braking system would give drivers one more tool to avoid an accident.
This "Electronic Brake Light" that warns drivers from afar is only one of the 20 systems that Ford is testing for Safe Intelligent Mobility. These systems would all work to intelligently communicate car-to-car and help improve safety on the roads. Currently the Electronic Brake Light is being tested in 120 vehicles in Frankfurt, Germany. However, if the testing is successful, we should see this safety system integrated into Ford vehicles within the next couple years.
Ford is constantly evolving to make sure that your ride is as safe and enjoyable as possible. If you'd like to see what safety features are currently available in our vehicles, stop by your South Lyon Area Ford Dealership and check out our large selection of Ford Cars For Sale or New Ford Trucks.

Model T's Birthplace Still Alive 110 Years After Ford Motor Co. was Founded
BRIGHTON, Mich. - As Ford Motor Company celebrates its 110 year anniversary this week, many are taking the time to trace through history and see how far Ford has come. If one were to follow the roots all the way back to Ford's humble beginnings, they would find the Ford Piquette Plant, the birthplace of the Model T.
110 years after Ford Motor Company was founded, the Model T's birthplace is still alive and well. When the plant first opened in 1904, it had over 67,000 square feet of space and was fairly close to the Milwaukee Junction rail terminal. Being that close in proximity to the railways allowed for the plant to acquire the materials needed for production quickly.
After four years of experimenting with different models, the Ford Piquette plant landed on the Model T in 1908. When the Model T began to be produced, it took workers about 12 hours to complete a vehicle. With the amount of employees in the 67,000 square feet of space, and the time it took to finish a car, this plant was able to produce only 100 Model T's daily. However, as the demand for vehicles went up and the industry quickly expanded, Henry Ford implemented the assembly line into his process. With the assembly line, the plant could easily produce a new car every 12 minutes! This increased production allowed the plant to produce over 15 million Model T's until 1927 when the last vehicle rolled off the assembly line.
While the Ford Piquette Plant is retired from producing vehicles, it still remains alive after 110 years as a museum and National Historic Landmark for all that took place within its walls. The building has been restored to the state it was in when the plant was being used to produce the vehicles and is open for the public's curious gaze.
While we might not have a Model T on our lot, we certainly have a large selection of cars for you at our South Lyon Used Car Dealership. Stop in today to see us and we'll assist you with a Used Car Loan and get you into a reliable vehicle for the warm months ahead. 2013 Ford F-150 Wins Pickup Challenge
BRIGHTON, Mich. - The 2013 Ford F-150 has won Pickuptrucks.com and Popular Mechanic's 2013 Light-Duty Challenge! Going grill to grill with the 2013 Ram 1500, and two General Motors 2014 trucks, the Ford F-150 proved itself to be the leader of the pack.
The 2013 Ford F-150 may have won the pickup challenge, but not before having to prove itself against various truck brands. The competing trucks' were tested vigorously, with challenges including 0-60 mph acceleration, braking, overall handling, towing, fuel economy, and overall look. These performance-oriented competitive events pushed each vehicle to the limit, and still the Ford half-ton dominated.
The next challenge on the road for these trucks is the Truck of Texas award, where members of the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) will test drive each vehicle and award the best ride. This award is always sought after by pickup truck manufacturers, since 1 in every 5 pickup trucks sold in the U.S. are sold in Texas and earning the Truck of Texas award almost guarantees the winning manufacturer a large amount of sales.
The 2013 Ford F-150 is best-in-class with the available 6.2L 2-valve V8 with 411 horsepower! To read more about what this winning vehicle has in store for you, check out our 2013 Ford F-150 Brochure. Robotic Cars Take the Punch for Ford Test Drivers
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Engineers at Ford's Michigan Proving Grounds have come up with the auto industry's first robotic test system, which drives trucks and vans across obstacles that put a decade of wear on a vehicle in ten minutes. With such destructive obstacle courses, robotic cars are now taking the punch for Ford Test Drivers.
With robotics cars now taking the punch for Ford Test Drivers, this allows the researchers to put the vehicles through even more tortuous testing. The obstacles that the vehicle encounters try to destroy the vehicle, with the intention of shaking the vehicle to pieces. Test cars will encounter a variety of difficult obstacles, such as driving over cement blocks, rough gravel, mud pits, and giant speed bumps.
According to Ford, all of it's vehicles are required to complete these intense durability tests before they are deemed fit to be sold. In the past, it would take longer for the vehicles to complete the obstacle course because it was potentially dangerous for the test drivers to be on the course for long periods of time. Some of the obstacles that are designed to shake the vehicle to pieces are considered to be dangerous to the driver if experienced more than one day.
By replacing the driver with a robot, Ford can submit these vehicles to the most intense, dangerous driving conditions - all without risking the drivers safety. This accelerates the durability testing, allowing Ford to create more durable and safer cars at a quicker pace.
At Ford, they work hard to make sure your Ford vehicle will run efficiently, and safely, for as long as possible. So stop in today at our Pinckney Area Ford Dealer location where we can show you our selection of Ford Cars For Sale. Not in the market for a new car? Ford Mustang Stars in 3,000 Movies and Counting
BRIGHTON, Mich. - As DreamWorks announced that the 2014 Ford Mustang will be starring in their upcoming movie 'Need for Speed', it makes one reflect on the Mustang's long list of movie appearances. Over the course of five decades, the Ford Mustang has appeared on the big and small screen 3,000 times! As we reflect on a few of the bigger cameos, try not to become star-struck by the Ford Mustang, star of 3,000 movies and counting!
Goldfinger
The Mustang's first ever screen appearance was in the 1964 "Goldfinger". Sadly, the car is actually destroyed in the movie, as it is chased by James Bond driving an Aston Martin DB5. As Bond catches up to the vehicle, he slashes the Mustang's tires and destroys the body panels.
Bullitt
In the 1968 movie, "Bullitt", Steve McQueen's character drives a Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT 390 Fastback. It's a great moment in action movie history, and one of the Mustang's most brilliant cameos, as it is considered to be one of the greatest car chases ever caught on film.
Gone in Sixty Seconds
In this 1974 action flick, a 1973 Mustang Mach I is the main character's vehicle of choice. This Mustang even does its own stunts as it proceeds to destroy 93 cars during a 40 minute long car chase. While it certainly wasn't pretty by the end of the scene, it definitely proved to be Built Ford Tough!
I Am Legend
In 2007, the Mustang has a brief cameo in "I Am Legend". Will Smith's character drives a red Shelby Mustang GT500 through the deserted streets of New York City after an airborne sickness has turned everyone into zombies. This scene is creepy yet cool, and we applaud Smith for sticking with the Mustang after the world ends.
After 3,000 movies and counting, the Ford Mustang has proven itself to have all the qualities of a true movie star. If you want to take home your own part of cinema magic history, check out our 2013 Ford Mustang Brochure! You can also come visit us at our South Lyon Area Ford Dealer to take a look at one of our Certified Preowned Cars For Sale, or allow us to assist you with a Used Car Loan.

Sneak Peek: 2015 Ford Mustang Spotted
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Shortly after celebrating the 49th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, the 2015 Ford Mustang was spotted on the streets, giving us a sneak peak as to what the next generation will look like. Although it was heavily disguised, it gives Mustang lovers a hint at what is to come, allowing us to address rumors of what changes will take place.
The first noticeable change that's apparent on the spotted 2015 Ford Mustang is that the car is a lot smaller than the Mustangs of the past. Riding lower to the ground, this Mustang's frame appears to be much smaller. The headlights also seem to be shaped differently, though the grill is too covered to make any definite observations.
When it comes to power, the next generation Mustang will be equipped with a base 3.7-liter V-6 engine and the 2015 Mustang GT will receive an upgraded 5.0-liter V-8. The 2015 Ford Mustang is code-named S550, and is even expected to have a turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that will be available in Europe. Rumors are swirling that the EcoBoost engine may even be offered in the U.S. - making the car less powerful but greener - but nothing has been officially released saying so.
Can't wait for the release of the 2015 Ford Mustang? Check out our 2013 Ford Mustang Brochure, and stop in at our Pinckney Area Ford Dealership where we can help you save money with Ford Mustang Rebates and Ford Mustang X-Plan Pricing.

5 of the Most Significant Ford Models in History
BRIGHTON, Mich. - The above picture is Henry Ford, riding in the first automobile he ever made. This was taken in 1896, back before cars were a thing, and before Henry Ford changed the fate of transportation. While it's amazing to see the new 2014 models being released, it's important to take a moment and appreciate how far Ford has come since it's humble beginnings. That's why we want to show you 5 of the most significant Ford models in history.
Ford Quadricycle
The Ford Quadricycle is the go-cart resembling vehicle pictured above. It's was Henry Ford's first automobile, made mostly of bicycle parts including wheels, and 10 feet of bicycle chain. Although the car could reach 20 mph, it actually had no brakes! Talk about risky business! Thankfully, the Ford vehicles of today are equipped with the best brakes, ensuring that you come to a complete stop - especially since our cars go a lot faster than 20 mph!
Ford Model T
The Ford Model T is the vehicle that first made Henry Ford popular. Selling over 15 million Model T's, the first car was made in 1908, while the last one rolled off the assembly line in 1927. This car was the first to be made using an assembly-line, which is one of Henry's ideas that forever changed production. During it's 19 year stint, it accounted for 40 percent of all cars sold in the U.S.!
Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang, one of the most influential muscle cars, was first made in 1964. The first day it went on sale, Ford sold nearly 22,000 vehicles! Although the looks have changed quite a bit since then, the Ford Mustang was, and continues to be, a favorite across the globe.
Ford GT40
The Ford GT40 (40 representing its overall height of 40 inches) is an American-British racing car, and was made to compete with Ferrari. Nowadays, the Ford GT40 is rare and extremely expensive.
Ford F-Series
The Ford F-series began in 1948 and continues to be made today. Ford is synonymous with trucks, and it all started with this series. The F-150 model was the best-selling vehicle in the country for years, and Ford continues to be the first name that comes to mind when you think of trucks.
As Ford continues to grow and evolve, it's always nice to appreciate and see the most significant models in Ford history that have helped make the company what it is today. We will continue to change over the years, but we never forget where we came from!
If you'd like to stop in at our South Lyon Area Ford Dealer today, we can help you pick out the right Ford vehicle for you! We have a wide selection of Certified Preowned Cars For Sale, and New Ford Trucks For Sale that would appeal to any potential car buyer. Ford Fund Sends World War II Veterans To World War II Memorial on D-Day
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford Motor Company Fund sends World War II veterans to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. on the anniversary of D-Day. The fund sponsored 26 World War II veterans from Kentucky, giving Ford an opportunity to thank just a few of our veterans for their time served.
June 6, 2013 marks the 69th anniversary of D-Day, which is when WWII U.S troops landed in Normandy, located in the north of France. While D-Day is a term used for the day of the actual landing in Normandy, it marked the beginning of what turned out to be an important victory for the allies in World War II. It was a triumph then, and still remains an important day in history today, which is why Ford Fund sent these honorable World War II veterans to visit the World War II memorial in D.C.
This token of appreciation is not the first that Ford has extended towards veterans, as this visit is actually one of three that Ford has sponsored this year. The Ford Motor Company Fund has also announced that they will be giving a hefty sum of $278, 000 in grants to Disabled American Veterans. This generous donation brings the total amount that Ford has donated to DAV to a total of $6.5 million since 1996.
Ford is known for supporting and sponsoring our veterans since 1922 in a variety of ways such as supporting memorial funds for several military memorials, and even employing as many as 7,000 U.S. veterans in the Ford company.
Ford likes to honor and support all things American, and you should too! At our South Lyon Area Ford Dealer we sell a variety of American-made vehicles, both new and used. So stop by and let us help you find the vehicle of your dreams, such as our New Ford Trucks or one of our many Certified Pre-Owned Cars For Sale.
