The Low-Down on the 2014 NAIAS and FREE Ticket Giveaway

Last year's North American International Auto Show featured 71 vehicle debuts; 61 of those were worldwide introductions. Over 5,000 journalists from 62 countries attended and 795,416 visitors passed through the Cobo Center doors. Now, what is the down-low on the 2014 NAIAS? We are here to give it to you!

The NAIAS is four shows in one- a media preview, industry preview, charity preview, and a public show. Nine full packed days of some of the most technologically advanced and aesthetically pleasing vehicles around. One of the top five vehicles to keep an eye out for? None other by the Ford F-Series pickup. This event has generated over $10 million in vehicle sales in the past and is hoping to bring the same success with the 2014 show. This year has an exciting addition, a fashion show presented by Detroit's Styleline Magazine with fashions provided by Neiman Marcus.

The Ford F-150 – Tough Enough For Texas

HUSTON, Texas, Feb. 21, 2012 - We’ve all heard the saying “Built Ford Tough” what seems like a million times. To make that statement more than a catchphrase, Ford Motor Company really goes out and proves itself time and time again. This time, Ford sent the F-150 down to Texas this past October to wrangle with 45 other entrants for the Texas Truck Rodeo. The F-150 had no trouble snagging the overall “Truck of Texas” award. The F-150 was easily a top contender with Best-in-Class Towing and Best-in-Class Payload backed with 3.7L V6 (or a 3.5L V6 with EcoBoost for enhanced fuel economy), a 5.0L V8, or the whopping 6.2LV8 with 411 horsepower and 434 ft-lbs of torque.

Ford received the “Texas-size” trophy (nearly three feet tall!) at the Huston Auto Show by the Texas Rodeo’s sponsor, the Texas Auto Writers Association. Doug Scott, Ford Truck Group Marketing Manager said, “This award means a lot to us, and we thank the Texas Auto Writers Association for validating what our customers have been telling us about our Built Ford Tough F-150. We appreciate their recognition of the quality of our trucks.”

Ford didn’t stop there, the Ford team picked up seven other honors by the TAWA including:

What’s Hot At the North American International Auto Show – An Overview by Michael Tabacchis

BRIGHTON, Mich., Feb. 13, 2012 – Brighton Ford’s own Michael Tabacchis attended the years North American International Auto Show in Detroit. After returning from the auto show, here’s what Michael had to report:

The 2012 North American International Auto Show has come and gone and Ford put their stamp on the industry again with an incredible display and showing a preview of the leading industry vehicle about to hit the showrooms. I worked the show for the third year in a row and I loved what I saw.

The new hybrid line-up. Lets face it Hybrids and electric cars are going to be the future. No way around it. Why not get the leader of hybrids? The 2013 all new design of the Fusion has ALL the buzz. An Incredibly classy look in an already great vehicle.

This is Amy and Kendra. Amy is a college student at MSU looking to start a career in marketing. Kendra is a mother of one with a zesty appetite for Italian food. Oh…..and that’s a Boss Mustang.

Finally the one everyone is talking about is the 2013 Ford Escape. All new design with a beautiful look. The original Escape has been one of Ford’s biggest sellers for year and were afraid to change the most popular Compact SUV on the market. I think they made a winner.

What puts Ford over the competition at the auto show is they don’t show you Concepts anymore. Why produce a vehicle that cost thousands to produce but will never be built? Ford wants to show you what they will do and not what they could do. I love that.

A Quick Look Back at the 2012 North American International Auto Show

BRIGHTON, Mich., Jan. 24, 2012 - The 2012 North American International Auto Show kicked off the New Year with a bang. This year’s auto show had a full roster of head-turners, most notably the 2013 Ford Fusion, which had everybody raving. Hundreds of thousands of visitors, journalists, and auto enthusiast flocked to the Cobo Center in Detroit for the 24^th annual event. Although both foreign and domestic automakers rolled out their exciting line-ups of new models and concept cars, all the buzz seemed to be around the newly redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion.

The Ford Fusion received praises from all over, including being named Yahoo! Autos #1 hit, and Autoweek’s Editors' Choice Award for best in show.
