2015 Ford F-150 Spy Shots

2015 Ford F-150 Spy Shots
BRIGHTON, Mich.- When the Ford Atlas concept truck debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, it was rumored that it may be the next generation Ford F-150. Well, it's difficult to tell if it the Atlas, but what appears to be the 2015 Ford F-150 was spotted while out testing! These 2015 Ford F-150 Spy Shots don't reveal everything, but we can see a few notable details.

2015 Ford F-150 Spy ShotsThe next generation F-150 is likely in early development, but we can see in the spy shots that it retains the chrome Gillette-style front grille that is present on the current F-150. What's shocking in these photos is that there are only five-lug wheel hubs, as opposed to the six or seven-lug hubs on the current F-150. This means that this could actually be a prototype for a Ford F-100 or a lighter duty pickup truck since trucks with higher payload ratings have more wheel lugs.

In addition, the 2015 Ford F-150 will be 700 pounds lighter thanks to advanced metals, which will improve fuel economy and offer the option for a smaller engine. The tiny split exhaust tips suggest even further the possibility for a smaller engine since the current Ford trucks have larger exhausts. Significant improvements in aerodynamics will also improve gas mileage.

Stay tuned as the next generation Ford F-150 develops and we receive more information on what to expect for the 2015 model. Until then, check out the 2013 Ford F-150 Brochure and keep in mind that you can save money with our Ford F-150 RebatesBrighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives on customer satisfaction. Part of that plan includes a massive decrease in waste from the production process that would normally be sent to the landfill. By 2016, Ford will Reduce Vehicle Waste By 40%. Meaning just 13.4 lbs. of waste per vehicle will be sent to a landfill!

This is a drastic reduction is waste from production, but it's not the only thing Ford plans on during to reduce waste. The automaker's global waste reduction strategy will affect all areas of business, from working with global suppliers to using more eco-friendly packaging. How To Save Fuel In The Winter

How To Save Fuel In The Winter
BRIGHTON, Mich.- With gas prices that seem like they continue to climb higher and higher, we're always looking for ways to save money on fuel and improve our fuel efficiency. Did you know that there are a few things that you can do specifically in the winter to make your tank of gas last a little longer? Keep these helpful, and simple, tips in mind when wondering How To Save Fuel In The Winter.

In addition to things you should do year-round like combining errands to avoid making a bunch of shorter trips and turning off your car rather than idling if you expect to be waiting more than 10 seconds, there are a few ways that you can improve fuel efficiency during the winter months.

First, you can get rid of the extra weight in your trunk. While you may carry extra weight to give you more traction, it also reduces your fuel efficiency, so lighten the load! Remember to always remove snow and ice from your vehicle, as that adds weight too.

Second, you can remember to be aware of resistance on the road. Even the lightest dusting of snow can create resistance for your vehicle and lower your fuel economy. So, try to wait until the roads have been plowed, or follow in the tracks that have been created by another vehicle.

Lastly, make sure to park your car in the garage in the winter if possible. This will keep your vehicle at a warmer temperature while not in use, and won't take as much energy to warm up. And in regards to letting your vehicle "warm-up" before you drive it, it only takes 30 seconds to warm the engine sufficiently, so don't waste fuel by turning on your car 10 minutes before you leave the house!

So, during the next frigid day or snow storm, don't forget these tips for How To Save Fuel In The Winter and you'll make your take of gas last a little bit longer! If you need a new vehicle to get you through the winter, check out our Ford Explorer Rebates or 2013 Ford Expedition Brochure! Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives on customer satisfaction. 2013 NASCAR Ford Fusion Stock Car

2013 NASCAR Ford Fusion Stock Car
BRIGHTON, Mich.- The Daytona 500 in Florida is just a few days away, and this year we will have a little more to look at when it comes to the stock cars. Instead of all of the NASCAR stock cars looking pretty much the same, the Gen 6 cars at the Daytona 500 will take a lesson from the past and look more like spiced up versions of the vehicles you actually see in dealer showrooms!

The 2013 NASCAR Ford Fusion Stock Car, the first race car actually designed by Ford engineers since the 1960's, will make its racing debut this Sunday. During the Daytona 500, you notice that designers were able to put their own personal touch on 13 separate surfaces of the car's exterior, making the 2013 NASCAR Ford Fusion look more like a Ford Fusion. While the NASCAR Fusion will feature a front end and taillights that mirror the showroom model Ford Fusion, the automaker hopes that the aerodynamic design change doesn't cost them a win.

Tune in to the Daytona 500 this Sunday to see the 2013 NASCAR Ford Fusion Stock Car in action. Then come on in to your Brighton Area Ford Dealership to test drive your own NASCAR-inspired 2013 Ford Fusion! We can help you save with Ford Fusion Rebates too! Leaked 2015 Ford Edge Image

Leaked 2015 Ford Edge Image
BRIGHTON, Mich.- Some unexpected Ford vehicle news has made headlines after a member of the Blue Oval Forums discovered an unfamiliar image! In a Powerpoint presentation by Ford Motor Company for the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference, an image of what looks to be a next generation Ford Edge has been either accidentally or purposely included in the presentation. Although the presentation occurred last month, the Leaked 2015 Ford Edge Image was not discovered until this week!

It's hard to see much since the image of the suspected 2015 Ford Edge is very small, but we can distinguish the significant changes to the vehicle's front and body style. The headlight shape appears to remain similar to the current 2013 Edge, but we see influence from the 2013 Ford Fusion in the fog light bezels and grille. We don't know if the image was placed in the presentation on purpose or on accident but the Leaked 2015 Ford Edge Image reveals that the crossover looks to be completely redesigned!

For full features and specifications on the current Edge, take a look into the 2013 Ford Edge Brochure and if you want to make it yours remember that we have Ford Edge Rebates to save you money!

Fuel Economy Myths

Fuel Economy Myths
BRIGHTON, Mich.- Gas prices have been sky high for what seems like almost a decade! Even though technology has allowed us to produce vehicles that can achieve amazing gas mileage, it still hurts our wallet every time we have to stop at the pump. Make your next trip to the gas station hurt a little less by keeping some fuel saving tips in mind and by finally busting these Fuel Economy Myths!

MYTH: Always fill up your tank at the coolest part of the day so you can get more gas.

FACT: Since the gasoline at most gas stations is stored underground, it remains cool and the temperature does not change very much throughout the day. You will not receive more gas whether you fill up in the morning or afternoon.

MYTH: Non-chain, or independent gas stations have low-quality fuel.

FACT: Local, off-brand gas stations usually purchase their gasoline from the big name brand oil companies, which means you'll receive the same fuel economy no matter where you fill up. No need to necessarily worry about receiving lower quality fuel from your local gas station.

MYTH: Use premium fuel for the best results.

FACT: Today's vehicles are built to run perfectly on regular unleaded fuel and using premium fuel won’t enhance your vehicle's performance or fuel economy. Premium gas is generally recommended for luxury or sport vehicles since they are built with high-performing engines. If you aren't sure which type of gas you should be using, check the sticker on your fuel door or the owner’s manual.  If it says 'premium gas recommended' you do not NEED to use it, but if it says 'required' then you definitely should use it.

MYTH: Driving with your windows down will lower your fuel economy.

FACT: While it is true that slowing down a bit can help improve your fuel efficiency, studies show that driving with the windows up or down doesn't have any positive or negative effect. If you want to improve your fuel efficiency, slow down.

If you want to upgrade to a newer, more fuel efficient vehicle after busting these Fuel Economy Myths, visit your Metro Detroit Ford Dealer. We have a wide inventory or fuel efficient vehicles like the Ford Fusion, Ford Fiesta, and Ford Focus. The fuel efficiency of these vehicles truly is impressive! Ford Motor Company Biometric Seat Research

Ford Biometric Seat Research
BRIGHTON, Mich.- Year after year, as new model year vehicles are released we are continually impressed by the ever improving in-vehicle technology. And Ford Motor Company's newest 2013 Ford Fusion is the perfect example of the company's efforts to incorporate breakthrough technology in consumer's vehicles. However, most recently, Ford's Biometric Seat Research proves to be even more life changing on our daily driving experiences.

The technology-focused Ford Fusion is equipped with more than 145 actuators, 4700 relays, and 70 sensors that generate more than 25 gigabytes of data per hour that is processed by over 70 on-board computers! That alone is impressive, but Ford's Biometric Seat Research will provide even more data to detect the driver's stress level and overall, help us to become better drivers.

Ford's Biometric Seat Prototype introduces 4 new sensors that the company hopes to incorporate into vehicles within 5 years. A tiny sensor built into the lap portion of the seat belt will monitor the driver's breathing rate, while capacitive sensors on the steering wheel, like the ones you see on exercise machines, will measure heart rate. The steering wheel is also home to infrared sensors that can gauge face temperature and then also compare the skin's temperature with the exterior temperature. When paired together, these new Biometric sensors will detect the driver's stress level, and evaluate whether the driver is able to fully concentrate on the road. If the Biometric Seat detects that the driver is indeed to tense to concentrate, the system will issue a warning and then also may block incoming phone calls, or limit the vehicle's speed to prevent potential accidents.

Ford Biometric Seat Research

Although Ford's Biometric Seat Research is still in the beginning stages, the 2013 Ford Fusion proves that this advanced technology is not far off. To experience top of the line technology in the  latest Fusion, check out our 2013 Ford Fusion Brochure and remember that we can help you save money with our Ford Fusion Rebates, Ford Fusion A Plan Pricing, and Ford Fusion X Plan Pricing!
