New Sport Mode In The 2015 F-150

New Sport Mode in the 2015 F-150

BRIGHTON, MI – There’s a new sport mode in the 2015 F-150. Ford engineers have combined the sport mode from the new Mustang into the lightweight F-150 for the ultimate driving experience.

Since the Mustang and F-150 were developed around the same time they were also test-driven on the same trips. After the F-150 was driven engineers realized how well the reduced weight design accelerated, so engineers put their heads together and the sport mode was added.

To activate the sport mode, drivers simply press the tow/haul button twice and an amber “S” will appear in the bottom-right of the tachometer. Sport mode works by lowering the frequency of gearshifts and keeping the truck in its “sweet spot” of the powerband. The transmission holds lower gears for a longer period of time to make driving more responsive and fun.

When the F-150 is in sport mode the driver doesn’t have to push the pedal down as far to reach accelerate. Over the experience gives truck drivers much more control and gives the truck more liveliness. Another feature of the F-150's transmission is the capability to match engine rpm while downshifting in slowing to go around a corner. This technology came right from the Mustang as well.

The new sport mode in the 2015 F-150 is standard now and you can activate it in any drive. You can see all of our 2015 Ford F-150 inventory online, or stop by and check 'em out in the flesh! 2015 F-150 Takes The Top Spot In Safety For The Light-Duty Truck Category

2015 F-150 Takes The Top Spot In Safety For The Light-Duty Truck Category

BRIGHTON, Mich. - There's been a lot of trash talking lately involving the effectiveness and safety of the new 2015 Ford F-150, but let us clear it up: the 2015 F-150 takes the top spot in safety for the light-duty truck category. Ford's new F-150 is the toughest, lightest, smartest, most capable and safest truck EVER produced and now, Ford Motor Company can add "safest" to the description. The new truck is also the first truck in America to EVER pick up a Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for the SuperCrew model.

The crash-test performance for the F-150 exceeded expectations, thanks in part to its all-steel frame, high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy body and smart engineering. A breakthrough in innovation also was applied to the reparability of the all-new F-150, thanks to its innovative structure that simplifies repairs.

Ford basis their safety tests not by unrealistic stunts, but by real-world situations and accident repair data. A cross functional group comprised of seasoned automotive veterans worked to optimize vehicle weight savings and manufacturing design to deliver improved durability, capability, fuel economy and crash worthiness and that is the reason why the 2015 F-150 takes the top spot in safety for the light-duty truck category.

Here at Brighton, we are proud of the all-new Ford F-150 and the engineers behind America's favorite truck! If you would like to stop by your Hartland Area Used Ford Dealer and get behind the wheel of one of our many 2015 Ford F-150s on the lot, feel free! Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. For more information on Brighton Ford visit BrightonFord.com or give us a call at (800) 836-8206.

The Exciting 2016 F-150 Continues To Dominate The Truck Industry

The Exciting 2016 F-150 Continues To Dominate The Truck Industry

BRIGHTON, Mich. - You may have been hearing A LOT about the all-new F-150 from Ford and for a good reason because the exciting 2016 F-150 continues to dominate the truck industry! With a Pro Trailer Backup Assist making backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob, more and more people are realizing the affordability and dependability that a Ford F-150 can provide. With a new Special Edition Appearance package available on the XLT and Lariat, Ford is continuing to make tons of different options available on America's favorite pickup truck.

Other changes for the 2016 F-150 include SYNC 3 integration, which replaces SYNC with MyFordTouch, Shadow Black replacing Tuxedo Black, Lithium Gray replacing Guard Metallic and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted silver pockets available on the XL.

The All-Pro Back Trailer, however, is what makes this new 2016 model! There is a reason the exciting 2016 F-150 continues to dominate the truck industry. The segment-first technology feature allows customers and drivers of all skill levels to steer a trailer instinctively by turning a knob left or right to indicate direction; the truck controls its steering and limits vehicle speed.  Also, responding to past customer requests, the 2016 Ford F-150 with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine will offer a gaseous-fuel prep option, making it the only light-duty pickup capable of running on compressed natural gas or propane.

We will definitely keep you updated as to when the 2016 F-150 will roll into Brighton Ford, hopefully very soon! Until then, feel free to stop by and visit your Milford Area Ford Dealership today! Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. For more information on Brighton Ford visit BrightonFord.com or give us a call at (800) 836-8206.

2015 Ford F-150 Just Received A Five-Star Safety Rating

2015 Ford F-150 Just Received A Five-Star Safety Rating
BRIGHTON, Mich. – When Ford initially announced that the 2015 F-150 was switching from an all-steel frame to aluminum, many auto insiders were worried about how this would effective the safety ratings of Ford’s number 1 selling truck. However, the 2015 Ford F-150 just received a five-star safety rating! This is the highest safety rating possible from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and Ford certainly has reason to celebrate! The 2015 F-150 proved a hard nut to crack, and beat out all other steel body vehicles. Ford’s previous 2014 all steel F-150 was only able to nab four stars in these awards last season.

Ford’s VP, Raj Nair quoted: “The 2015 model is engineered to be the safest F-150 ever, which matters to customers who depend on this truck not only to get the job done, but also to get them safely home.” Early in January the new F-150 was crowned the 2015 Truck of the year, and has been the talk of the entire industry since it was premiered. This truck hit the market at the perfect time, with gas prices hitting an all-time low, and the model also proved to be a performance monster after it passed the retooling process.

The all new 2015 Ford F-150 just received a five-star safety rating, surprising the entire automotive industry in the process and blowing the competition out of the water. The new aluminum frame is so much lighter, thus giving the truck a better fuel economy.  The new F-150 is also loaded with 31 added safety-features, which aided the vehicle to impress NHTSA crash-test examiners.

The new F-150 is expected to roll out soon, and we cannot wait to see it in the flesh! If you would like to inquire about the ’15 F-150, or test drive any of our Ford models, stop by! 2015 Ford F-150 Changes The Truck Industry

2015 Ford F-150 Changes The Truck Industry
BRIGHTON, Mich. –  Earlier this week, we blogged about Ford winning Best Overall Truck Brand, and that is mostly thanks to the all-new, 2015 Ford F-150. The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 has brought an all-new meaning to “built tough” with its groundbreaking use of aluminum. The 2015 Ford F-150 changes the truck industry, and has moved to using a high strength, military-grade aluminum alloy in the body structure of the vehicle, which is a MAJOR innovation for a high volume product such as the F-150. This use of aluminum trims over 700 pounds off of the F-150, which translates to a higher capability of the truck and is noticeable AS soon as one starts to drive it.

Along with a new body composition, the F-150 gains another EcoBoost engine, which provides drivers with the combination of horsepower, torque, and fuel-efficiency every truck owner yearns for. The all new 2015 F-150 changes the truck industry, and is truly prepared for anything that the road brings, and that includes unfortunate incidents; “We’ve already been able to optimize the reparability of the truck and offer sectioning procedures and partial replacement procedure that we couldn’t do with the steel vehicle.” Says Larry Coan, Damageability Product Concern Engineer, Ford Motor Company.

This transition from steel to aluminum is truly groundbreaking within the automotive industry. This transition also provides the opportunity to add multiple onboard technologies that really set this truck apart from the rest of the pack. These include: a BLIS system, cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning, just to name a few! Some of these have never even BEEN in a truck model before! Ford is truly innovating the industry!
