2015 F-150 Takes The Top Spot In Safety For The Light-Duty Truck Category
BRIGHTON, Mich. - There's been a lot of trash talking lately involving the effectiveness and safety of the new 2015 Ford F-150, but let us clear it up: the 2015 F-150 takes the top spot in safety for the light-duty truck category. Ford's new F-150 is the toughest, lightest, smartest, most capable and safest truck EVER produced and now, Ford Motor Company can add "safest" to the description. The new truck is also the first truck in America to EVER pick up a Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for the SuperCrew model.
The crash-test performance for the F-150 exceeded expectations, thanks in part to its all-steel frame, high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy body and smart engineering. A breakthrough in innovation also was applied to the reparability of the all-new F-150, thanks to its innovative structure that simplifies repairs.
Ford basis their safety tests not by unrealistic stunts, but by real-world situations and accident repair data. A cross functional group comprised of seasoned automotive veterans worked to optimize vehicle weight savings and manufacturing design to deliver improved durability, capability, fuel economy and crash worthiness and that is the reason why the 2015 F-150 takes the top spot in safety for the light-duty truck category.
Here at Brighton, we are proud of the all-new Ford F-150 and the engineers behind America's favorite truck! If you would like to stop by your Hartland Area Used Ford Dealer and get behind the wheel of one of our many 2015 Ford F-150s on the lot, feel free! Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. 2015 Ford F-150 Changes The Truck Industry
BRIGHTON, Mich. – Earlier this week, we blogged about Ford winning Best Overall Truck Brand, and that is mostly thanks to the all-new, 2015 Ford F-150. The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 has brought an
all-new meaning to “built tough” with its groundbreaking use of aluminum. The 2015 Ford F-150 changes the truck industry,
and has moved to using a high strength, military-grade aluminum alloy in the
body structure of the vehicle, which is a MAJOR innovation for a high volume
product such as the F-150. This use of aluminum trims over 700 pounds off of
the F-150, which translates to a higher capability of the truck and is
noticeable AS soon as one starts to drive it.
Along with a new body composition, the F-150 gains another
EcoBoost engine, which provides drivers with the combination of horsepower,
torque, and fuel-efficiency every truck owner yearns for. The all new 2015 F-150 changes the truck industry,
and is truly prepared for anything that the road brings, and that includes
unfortunate incidents; “We’ve already been able to optimize the reparability of
the truck and offer sectioning procedures and partial replacement procedure
that we couldn’t do with the steel vehicle.” Says Larry Coan, Damageability
Product Concern Engineer, Ford Motor Company.
This transition from steel to aluminum is truly
groundbreaking within the automotive industry. This transition also provides
the opportunity to add multiple onboard technologies that really set this truck
apart from the rest of the pack. These include: a BLIS system, cross-traffic
alert, and lane departure warning, just to name a few! Some of these have never
even BEEN in a truck model before! Ford is truly innovating the industry!
To test drive
any of our F-150, F-250, or F-350 models, feel free to stop by! We are located at 8240 Grand River
Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned
and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. For more

Pricing for 2015 Ford F-150 Released
BRIGHTON, Mich - As of yesterday, U.S. and Canadian dealers were able to begin placing orders for the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck that will hit showrooms later this year. Now that the pricing for the 2015 Ford F-150 has been released, customers will notice that Ford Motor Company has raised the prices on the aluminum-bodied F-Series pickup by $395 to $3,615.
The base model 2015 XL F-150 will start at $26,615, up $395, and the top-end Platinum version will start at $52,144, up $3,055. The biggest price increase is on the King Ranch F-150, which will not start at $49,460, up $3,615. Being that this F-150 model is a lightweight, aluminum-bodied pickup and has a predicted fuel economy of 30 miles per gallon on the highway, Ford believe that buyers will pay the premium amount for the F-Series truck. Aluminum does happen to be more costly than steel, but the added price stems from added content, improved performance and better efficiency, not the materials.
Ford will be losing production of roughly 90,000 F-Series pickups as it converts two factories to aluminum truck production. Changing the 2015 Ford F-150 to aluminum is the largest and most complicated launch in the history of Ford Motor Company. It will be a tough process, but Ford is confident that their loyal customers will respond positively and make all of these obstacles worth while.

All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps
BRIGHTON, Mich - Add it to the long list of new enhancements and features, the All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps. Ford will offer a brighter, tougher and more efficient headlamp, being the first to do so within the entire pickup truck segment of the industry. The LED headlamp technology offered on the all-new F-150 will now last as long, or even longer, than the truck itself.
Using 63 percent less energy than the typical halogen bulbs, the new LED headlamps are going to give competitors a run for their money. The technology in these headlamps create a higher quality, durability and aesthetic than any other pickup truck you will see on the road. By the way, when we say durable - we aren't kidding. You could stand, that's right STAND, on one of these 11-pound headlamps and you wouldn't see one dent or scratch. Ford of course exposed the LED headlamps to their very own torture tests. The headlamps spent some time in the scorching heat, soaking in salt water and serving as a target for rocks, stones and ice. Any signs of destruction? Not a one.
As the fastest-growing segment in lighting technology, LED can be found just about every where. Your smartphone, television and even local grocery store use LED lighting. As a simpler form of technology on the all-new F-150, the LED headlamps make for a longer-lasting and more durable product. These headlamps actually magnify light which better illuminates the road for all-new F-150 drivers. The All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps and will set the trend for what is said to be the next "big thing" in the automotive industry.
You can count on Brighton Ford to have all of the latest Ford vehicles on our lot. From cars and trucks to SUVs and crossovers, we have a vehicle to meet anyone's needs. Start by checking out our online inventory and then head on over to the dealership for a test-drive! We are located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. Advanced 2.7-Liter EcoBoost Makes F-150 More Capable and Efficient
BRIGHTON, Mich - Another reason to love the All-New Ford F-150, the Advanced 2.7-Liter EcoBoost® Makes the F-150 More Capable and Efficient than ever. The 2.7-liter engine with an extremely high output and lightweight design is accompanied by an Auto Start-Stop technology creating a stronger and smarter truck.
The all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost® with the standard Auto Start-Stop was engineered exclusively for the new Ford F-150. The engine features a new design that delivers more power and a stronger performance that ever before. Taking lessons learned from the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, an industry benchmark for advanced truck engines, and applying new technologies created a more efficient engine that can perform like a large mid-range V8.
The 2.7-liter EcoBoost is the first use of graphite iron cylinder block in a gasoline engine. The composite CGI/aluminum block saves weight and provides strength where it is needed for maximum durability. The engine also contains all-new engine logic that alters operating parameters on the fly, providing the best efficiency and performance for the environment and workload. Some of these features include:
In addition to the Baja 1000, the Ford labs subjected the F-150 to temperatures between minus 25 degrees and 235 degrees Fahrenheit. It participates in fatigue tests that run the engine at full load for more than 17 days and usually at peak torque and power. The Auto Start-Stop is also tested with repeated stop/starts with more than 900 test hours, simulating 240,000 starts and stops.

- All-new aluminum cylinder heads that feature water-cooled integrated exhausted manifolds
- Cooling jets beneath the pistons that spray oil on the pistons to help lower operating temperatures
- Cartridge-style oil filter integrated into top of the engine for easy service
The Auto Start-Stop technology in the new F-150 boosts fuel efficiency and is specially tuned for truck customers. The technology shuts the engine off when the vehicle is at a stop and turns it on within milliseconds once the brake is released. With the exception of when the truck is towing or in four-wheel drive, this technology will give drivers power on demand when they need it the most.
In order to prove the 2.7-liter EcoBoost's capability and durability, it had to take on intense environments. Ford labs and the 2013 Baja 1000 provided such environments. A disguised F-150 participated in the Baja 1000 with no additional oil coolers or radiators that are typically added for multi-day off-road races. The truck finished the 883-mile event, which was said to be the toughest in decades, without any problems. The stock air filter was the only part changed during the event.

The Advanted 2.7-Liter EcoBoost will Make the F-150 More Capable and Efficient for truck customers every where. Ford Motor Company is taking "Built Tough" to a whole new level!

All-New Ford F-150 Features Takes Driver Experience to New Level
BRIGHTON, Mich - Ford's all-new F-150 features are taking the driving experience to a new level with improved comfort and convenience thanks to a dozen new technologies. America's most popular truck is debuting some features for the very first time and will maximize work and play activity.
The notable lineup of tech-savvy features are aimed to help customers do more with their trucks. First, let's talk about visibility. The F-150 provides drivers with extra visibility thanks to a new 360-degree camera system. The first of its kind system allows the drive to view all four sides of the vehicle, providing easier navigation of parking spaces or around tight corners. Cameras are mounted in the grille, tailgate, and under each sideview mirror work together to provide the driver with a overhead bird's-eye view and perception for as much as seven feet of surrounding space.
Energy-efficient LED lighting spreads throughout the interior and exterior of the F-150, making for a brighter, whiter light and improved durability than other incandescent lamps. Segment-first LED headlamps will give a better quality of light that is more representative of daylight colors. They also consume less energy than the average headlight technology and are designed to last the lifetime of the truck. A complementing steering-torque features will pull it back into the center of the lane if needed. Adaptive cruise control uses onboard radar, automatically slowing the truck down when cruise control is engaged and the truck is approaching slow traffic. Once the slowdown is gone, the truck will resume the original cruise controlled speed.
Collision mitigation is a system that use's the truck's radar to alert the driver if the truck detects a possible collision. The system can actually pre-engage the breaks to help the drive slow the truck even more quickly. BLIS®, Ford's Blind Spot Information System, with cross-traffic alert is a driver-assist feature that helps detect vehicles in blind sports during normal driving and traffic approaching from the sides when reversing out of parking spots.
The F-150's cargo box has upgrading significantly, making it more versatile and driver-friendly. Remote lock/unlock of the tailgate and an automatic tailgate lowering feature that will lower itself with a push of a button on the key fob will be a huge help to customers. Stowable cargo ramps and lockable die-cast aluminum tie-down cleats, known as the BoxLink system, will help customers stow cargo in numerous ways. The F-150 SuperCab will also make it much easier to load and unload cargo with the flat load floor and rear doors that open almost 180 degrees.
