Millennials Fear Other Motorists Driving Dangerously More Than Anything Else

BRIGHTON, Mich. - Many believe that the most common fear among human beings is the fear of public speaking, death or spiders, but when it comes to Millennials, you're wrong: Millennials fear other motorists driving dangerously more than anything else! A new survey released by Ford Motor Co. says that Millennials and Generation Z consumers' top driving fears include backing out onto busy streets, maneuvering into tight parking spaces and monitoring blind spots. 

For decades, public speaking has held the top fear spot, as well as spiders. However, younger generations are growing up with completely different fears than their parents or grandparents. Today, younger drivers are more worried about distracted drivers. See the list below:

Top fears for Millennials and Generation Z:

1. Other motorists driving dangerously (88%)
2. Public speaking (75%)
3. Death (74%)
4. Spiders (69%)
5. Snakes (69%)

The most worrisome driving conditions for Millennials and Generation Z survey respondents include snowy or icy roads, maneuvering into a tight parking spot, backing out onto a busy street, monitoring blind spots and not knowing where they are going. Millennials fear other motorists driving dangerously more than anything else, and that is why Ford Motor Co. offers technologies that will assist drivers in operating their vehicles as safely as possible. Research shows that 65 percent of respondents are more likely to purchase a vehicle if it has the technology to help with parallel parking.

UAW-Ford Donates $1.8 Million For State-Of-The-Art Baseball Field

BRIGHTON, Mich. - Today the UAW-Ford Motor Co. donates $1.8 million for a state-of-the-art baseball field in Detroit's historic Woodbridge Community. Ford Motor Company is dedicating the new baseball field to the late William Clay Ford Sr. and has an ongoing partnership with several community organizations, including the Woodbridge Community Youth Center.The joint initiative between the UAW and Ford Motor Co. represents the ongoing commitment to help strengthen and improve neighborhoods where its members live and work by giving back to those communities.

Jimmy Settles, UAW-Ford V.P stated, "UAW-Ford strongly believes investing in our youth is key to building a better Detroit and a bright future for generations to come. We share this commitment with the Ford family to build strong communities. Consequently, we are proud to invest in the neighborhoods in which our members work and live."

The new state-of-the-art ballpark will be an incredible centerpiece for the Midtown located Woodbridge Community, and will draw tons of visitors and teams both locally and regionally from across the state to Detroit. The UAW-Ford Motor Co. donates $1.8 million for state-of-the-art baseball field renovations, which include pitching and batting cages, new bleachers, a digitalized scoreboard, scenic landscaping, new lighting and renovated restrooms.

Ford F-150 Tops Toyota as Most American Vehicle

BRIGHTON, Mich. - The Ford F-150 has officially topped the Toyota Camry as the most American Vehicle in the Cars.com annual "American Made Index". This award comes shortly after the Ford F-150 dominated the 2013 Light-Duty Pickup Challenge, as well as its continued success as being the best-selling truck for 37 years. With so many accomplishments under it's bumper, the Ford F-150 is taking the country by storm.

The Ford F-150 topped the Toyota as the most American vehicle for a number of reasons. The American Made Index, created by Cars.com, used various factors to determine the 'American-ness' of each vehicle.  Specifically, they determined where the car and its parts were built, and then how many of them were sold. Over 75% of the F-150 is manufactured in the United States; the two F-150 factories produce in Dearborn, Michigan and Claycomo, Missouri.

As for the number of vehicles sold, the Ford F-150 has done exceptionally well this year. Ford Motor Company will even be adding 2,000 workers at the F-150 factory in Missouri to continue to produce to meet the demand.

BRIGHTON, Mich. – The Ford Flex is a full-size family vehicle that features three-rows of seating, bold styling and is highly functional. The Flex competes directly in the popular crossover segment.

The front-wheel or all-wheel drive Flex is powered by a 285-hp 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine. Available on the all-wheel drive Limited only is the 355-hp 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift. Available features include a Multi-Panel Vista Roof, interior refrigerator, and capless fueling. Standard safety features include four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock brakes, electronic stability and roll control, six airbags, and a tire pressure monitor.

10 Spring Car Cleaning Tips To Get Ready For Summer!

Spring is here and Summer is on the way! The winter months can put quite hurtin' on your car or truck and to get the warm months started right we thought we'd lay out 10 helpful tips and tricks to get you car looking it's best for evening cruises down Main Street. Many of you may have already done your Spring car cleaning, but a second run can't hurt!

1.) If you live in an area that sees a lot of snow during the winter the first you’ll want to do is spray off the undercarriage of your vehicle. Salt, sand, dirt and mud can build up down there and, if ignored, can cause your vehicle to rust! 

2.) Windshield wipers take a beating from snow and ice during the winter. It’s not a bad idea to replace them in the Spring to ensure you have the best visibility possible all summer long.

3.) Clean those carpets! You know they were hit with loads of road salt and slush all winter and could use a good scrub. Try to find the carpet cleaners with a scrub brush on the end – it can make a huge difference!

4.) Being blessed with such a mild winter could mean we’re in store very hot summer. To beat the heat make sure you’re A/C is charged up and ready to go or you might be caught sweating it out!

5.) Those new windshield wipers can’t always do the job alone. Make sure your wiper fluid is full so you’re not stuck with a dirty windshield on your way Up North!

6.) Another great way to keep the windshield crystal clear and streak free is by spraying it down with some RainX. A lot of times you can find it on sale and though may seem a little gimmicky, it really does make a difference!

7.) Dust off the dashboard! Just because you had your windows closed all winter doesn’t mean the dust stayed out and the longer it sits there the more aesthetic damage it can do to your car’s interior.

8.) Speaking of dust, did you know your car has a cabin air filter? This keeps the air in your car fresh and if you haven’t checked it lately you probably should - especially considering its allergy season.

9.) Bust out the turtle wax! Nothing makes a car look better than a fresh coat of wax. Not only will it shine like new, it will also protect your paint from dirt and the never-ending spring showers.

10.) Now that your car is all cleaned up its time to open the glove box. You know you crammed all sorts of junk in that thing over the winter, so pull it all out and start fresh. As long as your registration and proof of insurance are easy to get to you should be good!
