Pricing for 2015 Ford F-150 Released

BRIGHTON, Mich - As of yesterday, U.S. and Canadian dealers were able to begin placing orders for the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck that will hit showrooms later this year. Now that the pricing for the 2015 Ford F-150 has been released, customers will notice that Ford Motor Company has raised the prices on the aluminum-bodied F-Series pickup by $395 to $3,615. 

The base model 2015 XL F-150 will start at $26,615, up $395, and the top-end Platinum version will start at $52,144, up $3,055. The biggest price increase is on the King Ranch F-150, which will not start at $49,460, up $3,615. Being that this F-150 model is a lightweight, aluminum-bodied pickup and has a predicted fuel economy of 30 miles per gallon on the highway, Ford believe that buyers will pay the premium amount for the F-Series truck. Aluminum does happen to be more costly than steel, but the added price stems from added content, improved performance and better efficiency, not the materials. 

Ford will be losing production of roughly 90,000 F-Series pickups as it converts two factories to aluminum truck production. Changing the 2015 Ford F-150 to aluminum is the largest and most complicated launch in the history of Ford Motor Company. It will be a tough process, but Ford is confident that their loyal customers will respond positively and make all of these obstacles worth while.

2015 F-150 Adds Two New Engines to Four-Engine Lineup

BRIGHTON, Mich - The most capable F-150 yet is providing truck customers with even more options to ensure that their light-duty pickup will meet every one of their driving needs. The 2015 F-150 has added two new engines to its four-engine lineup - a high-output 2.7-liter EcoBoost with standard Auto Start-Stop and new 3.5-liter V6 with twin independent variable camshaft timing - and has raised the bar in light-duty pickup performance, capability and efficiency yet again. 

The twin turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine is ideal for meeting all of your mid-range capability needs. It is not only efficient with its Auto Start-Stop technology, but it also features Ford's first use of compacted graphite iron cylinder block which saves weight while providing strength where it is needed most. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 combines power and performance in one strong package. This engine can produce 325 horsepower, 375 lb.-ft. of torque, has a maximum payload rating of 2,250 pounds and a maximum tow rating of 8,500. 

The 3.5-liter V6 is extremely powerful and durable thanks to vehicle weight savings. The 3.5-liter V6 with Ti-VCT offers a 5 percent improvement in power-to-weight ratio over the larger 3.7-liter V6 found in the 2014 F-150. This engine has a high efficiency rate and performance level, producing 283 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. Its maximum payload is 1,910 pounds and has a max tow rating of 7,600, making it unsurpassable for standard V6 light-duty pickup trucks. 

Now that the 2015 F-150 has added two new engines to its four-engine lineup, Ford customers will have the option to alter their 2015 F-150 to meet all of their driving needs. Whether they are hauling tools or towing tailors, there is an engine for that!

Ford & Detroit Lions Join Forces to Support "Meet Up & Eat Up" Program

BRIGHTON, Mich - As of today, a historical partnership has formed between two community-focused organizations to help raise awareness of food insecurity in Detroit, Michigan. Ford Motor Company and the Detroit Lions will join forces to support the "Meet Up & Eat Up" program, working together to revive Detroit, eliminate food insecurity and educate fans and customers about proper nutrition. Between the two organizations, "Meet Up & Eat Up" will receive resources and assets from both the Ford Mobile Food Pantry and the Lions Living for the City program. 

Both Ford and the Detroit Lions are thrilled to joined forces to support the "Meet Up & Eat Up" program. As a part of Ford's effort to create a brighter future within the local community, partnering with the Detroit Lions will be a huge aid in raising awareness and expanding education of health and wellness throughout Southeastern Michigan. Currently, Ford has a fleet of Transit Connect Mobile Food Pantries in Southeast Michigan that deliver 1.3 million meals through organizations that feed the hungry. For the rest of the summer season, the Detroit Lions and Ford Motor Company will be at eight "Meet Up & Eat Up" sites with Lions mascot, Roary, Detroit Lions players and alumni and Play 60 activities led by Playworks Detroit.
