Ford Makes $500 Million Investment in Lima Engine Plant

Ford Makes $500 Million Investment in Lima Engine Plant
BRIGHTON, Mich - Ford Makes a $500 Million Investment in Lima Engine Plant that will be used towards a plant upgrade as well as the addition of 300 new jobs that will help with production of the all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost® for the 2015 Ford F-150. The new EcoBoost engine has grown in demand over 600 percent since 2010; the F-150 being responsible for 91 percent of that growth. Ford Customers have spoken and the team at the Lima Engine Plant is ready to meet their needs by turning out one of the most technologically advanced engines ever designed.

Ford is Making a $500 Million Investment in the Lima Engine Plant that now products the 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter Duratec® V6 engines for several Ford vehicles - such as the Edge and Explorer utilities, the Lincoln MKX crossover, MKT utility and MKZ sedan. Ford's $500 million investment will go towards a flexible engine assembly system and renovation of 700,000 square feet of the plant for other machining and assembly functions. For almost 60 years, Lima Engine has kept Ford and Lincoln vehicles running. The addition of the 2.7-liter to the facility will help create a solid future for both Ford and the workers at this Ohio plant.

Ford Makes $500 Million Investment in Lima Engine Plant The latest EcoBoost engine is bringing Ford customers more power and performance in one complete package for the 2015 F-150. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost® uses standard Auto Start-Stop technology that improves overall performance and fuel efficiency. It also has some fine tuning that has been developed especially for truck customers when towing or when using the four-wheel-drive mode. The Auto Start-Stop turns off the engine automatically when the vehicle is at a stop, then restarts immediately when the driver releases the brake. As far as performance goes, the engine's compacted graphite iron and aluminum engine block saves weight as well as provides strength where it is most needed.

The Lima Engine Plant will be making changes very soon, being that the all-new 2015 F-150 is set to hit dealerships later this year. You can find the latest in Ford vehicles at Brighton Ford! All-New Mustang's Aerodynamic Technology Improves Efficiency and Performance

BRIGHTON, Mich - The All-New Mustang's Aerodynamic Technology Improves Efficiency and Performance while maintaing that iconic shape and character that Mustang fanatics love. Both design and performance are two of the most vital elements that have attracted customers to the Mustang for the past 50 years. By increasing the output of the powerplant and reducing amount of work that it has to do, the all-new 2015 Mustang improves its performance and has a sleeker shape that makes it easy to slice through the air with significantly less effort.

Ford engineers spent twice as much time doing aerodynamic simulations and wind tunnel tests than they did with the previous Mustang model. Advancements in technology allowed the company to test the effect of the design and provide feedback in less than 48 hours, giving them the chance to try out several styling ideas. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine accompanied by active grille shutters help make the Mustang more fuel efficient by preventing drag at higher speeds. These shutters can close off the grille, sending air over and around the car rather than through the engine compartment. New Mustangs are now equipped with splitters and air dams below the front fascia, minimizing the amount of air under the car. All of these enhancements and the vents in the hood, contribute to keeping the front-end of the Mustang planted.

See how the All-New Mustang's Aerodynamic Technology Improves Efficiency and Performance this fall when the car makes its way to Brighton Ford. Our dealership proudly serves Livingston County with a great selection of new, used and pre-owned Ford vehicles. Stop by for a test-drive today! Ford Paves Future for Mid-Size SUVs with Everest Concept
BRIGHTON, Mich - At the Bangkok International Auto Show, Ford Paved the Future for Mid-Size SUVs with the Everest Concept Vehicle. This seven-seat, multitalented SUV has been designed specifically with the ASEAN region market in mind. The Ford Everest Concept is raising the bar for progressive, tough SUVs everywhere with a new look and enhanced capabilities.

Ford Paves the Future for Mid-Size SUVs with the Everest Concept Vehicle by displaying the perfect combination of power, style and technology. It shows the direction that Ford believes mid-size SUVs are headed in. A 13 percent growth in the global utility market in 2013 brought Ford 1.3 million in utility sales and a 35 percent increase from the previous year. So really, what better time to develop something fresh? The new design stays true to the "Ford Tough" persona, but also remains highly capable for customers in the ASEAN market. It will suit a variety of customer needs, whether they are up-country or in the city.

Ford Paves Future for Mid-Size SUVs with Everest Concept

As mentioned before, the new design stays true to Ford cues, but is also sleek and refined to contrast the striking technical details. The headlamps on the Everest are smaller than the typical SUV headlight and connect to the trapezoidal grille. The back of the vehicle has "negative scallop" taillamps and a strong design that is not usually found on SUVs. The Everest has high ground clearance, perfect for off-roading, which truly conveys its fun-to-drive persona. The reveal of the Everest Concept and the new take on the mid-size SUVs is just the start of Ford's plan of expansion to showrooms all across the ASEAN region.

2015 Ford Mustang Gets a Sky High View

2015 Ford Mustang Gets a Sky High View
BRIGHTON, Mich - The 2015 Ford Mustang Will Get a Sky High View this coming April 16-17th. As the Ford Mustang starts the celebration of 50 years of success, there is another anniversary that cannot be forgetten. This year marks the 50th birthday of the Ford Mustang heading to the observation deck of the Empire State Building. This April, the iconic pony car will once again be heading on up to get a sky high view of New York City.

Two of the most recognizable icons in the world are celebrating together on April 16-17th. The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang Will Get a Sky High View as it makes its way up 86 floors to the observation deck of the Empire State Building. The display will be in honor of 50 years since the Mustang made its debut at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. How exactly did this Mustang get to the top 50 years ago? Well, even today there is no crane tall enough to reach 86 stories and the spire towering around the observation deck makes it impossible for a helicopter delivery. Now, 50 years later, the Ford Mustang will again be taking the elevator. Mustang engineers are measuring and cutting the 2015 Mustang into pieces so they will perfectly fit inside the elevators. After all of the Mustang makes its way to the 86th floor, technicians will have a total of six hours to reassemble the all-new Mustang to its original state.

Visitors of the Empire State Building observation deck can see the Mustang for a total of 54 hours from April 16-17th from 8am to 2pm. If you are looking for a car to take you to new heights, head on over to Brighton Ford! Check out the 2014 Ford Taurus or 2014 Ford Fusion online, then schedule a test-drive with us! Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. Ford Driving Skills for Life Launches Second Decade with New Content

Ford Driving Skills for Life Launches Second Decade with New Content
BRIGHTON, Mich - Ford Driving Skills for Life Launches Second Decade with New Content and an improved mission to address dangerous trends and challenges that teens and new drivers face. With the same mindset of "hands on the wheel, eyes on the road", Ford Driving Skills for Life will now incorporate modern lessons that new drivers will not learn about in a typical driver's ed class.

In order to keep teens engaged, Ford realizes it is necessary to keep the program as updated and relevant as possible. One of the newest segments added to the curriculum is to educated drivers about the dangerous new trend known as "driving selfies". If you're unfamiliar with the term, it is referring to a driver taking a self-portrait when behind the wheel. As peculiar as it may sound, Ford will demonstrate the dangers of this recent trend to drivers by simulating the distraction that is created by taking a selfie while driving on a closed course.

As the issue of impaired driving has increased, Ford now has incorporated a drunk driving suit into the Ford Driving Skills for Life program. The suit replicates some of the physical challenges a person faces when under the influence of alcohol. Added weight to the arms and legs of the student in the drunk driving suit will cause the person to become unbalanced as well as slow reaction time. Showing the new driver just how physically impaired a driver under the influence becomes when getting behind the wheel.

The Ford Driving Skills for Life program began in 2003 and is now operating in15 -soon to be 19- countries.  Ford Driving Skills for Life Launches Second Decade with New Content and technology such as video elements that address the latest safety trends to help teen and new drivers all over the globe make safe choices when out on the road. You can see the latest and upgraded materials at www.drivingskillsforlife.com.

All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps

All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps
BRIGHTON, Mich - Add it to the long list of new enhancements and features, the All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps. Ford will offer a brighter, tougher and more efficient headlamp, being the first to do so within the entire pickup truck segment of the industry. The LED headlamp technology offered on the all-new F-150 will now last as long, or even longer, than the truck itself.

Using 63 percent less energy than the typical halogen bulbs, the new LED headlamps are going to give competitors a run for their money. The technology in these headlamps create a higher quality, durability and aesthetic than any other pickup truck you will see on the road. By the way, when we say durable - we aren't kidding. You could stand, that's right STAND, on one of these 11-pound headlamps and you wouldn't see one dent or scratch. Ford of course exposed the LED headlamps to their very own torture tests. The headlamps spent some time in the scorching heat, soaking in salt water and serving as a target for rocks, stones and ice. Any signs of destruction? Not a one.

As the fastest-growing segment in lighting technology, LED can be found just about every where. Your smartphone, television and even local grocery store use LED lighting. As a simpler form of technology on the all-new F-150, the LED headlamps make for a longer-lasting and more durable product. These headlamps actually magnify light which better illuminates the road for all-new F-150 drivers. The All-New Ford F-150 Will Offer First Ever LED Headlamps and will set the trend for what is said to be the next "big thing" in the automotive industry.

Ford Mustang Performs Real Stunts in the Need for Speed Movie

Ford Mustang Performs Real Stunts in the Need for Speed Movie
BRIGHTON, Mich - Scott Waugh, director of the film "Need for Speed", took a genuine approach when it came to filming his latest movie. The Ford Mustang Performs Real Stunts in the Need for Speed Movie rather than giving computer-generated images all the credit. Waugh was a former stuntman himself and recognizes how an understanding of the law of physics plays a huge part in telling the story on camera. When physics are not parallel with the characters and storyline, it can take away from a film's authenticity.

Computer-generated images are great for superhero, science fiction or fantasy films, but Scott Waugh thought that utilizing the resources available to him would be much more effective. Seven modified 2014 Ford Mustangs were used for filming and were strategically set up to ensure the most safety while shooting. The crew used more than 40 different digital cameras to capture images of the 2014 Ford Mustang to successfully convince the audience the actors were really driving. For on-the-road sequences, a Supercharged 2013 Mustang GT was used as a camera car to capture close-in action shots to give viewers the true feeling of intense speed.

When it came to really getting behind the wheel, all of the actors were required to go through an intensive training at Willow Springs International Motorsports Park in California. There they learned how to handle the Mustang when drifting around corners and how to hit exact marks when driving. Of course, professional stunt drivers handled the complex shots, one even by the name of Vaughn Gittin Jr. Gittin was a champion drifter and could easily fling the all-new 2015 Mustang and place it exactly where Scott Waugh wanted it.

The time is here and you can finally see the Ford Mustang Perform Real Stunts in the Need for Speed Movie in theaters NOW!
