5 Snacks For the Holiday Weekend

5 Snacks For the Holiday Weekend
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Labor Day is always a busy time for Americans, as people travel for a short vacation, or have family and friends over for outdoor festivities. To help you prepare, here are 5 snacks for the holiday weekend that everyone will love.

1. Caprese Crisps. You'll need:
5 Snacks For the Holiday Weekend

  • Tomatoes
  • Mozzarella Pearls
  • Basil Leaves
  • French Bread Loaf
  • Salt
  • Star Cookie Cutter
First, you'll need to slice and prepare all of your ingredients. Make sure to cut the bread into thick slices since it will be pushed down during the preparation process. Slice your tomatoes, mozzarella and basil leaves into the desired width, size, etc. Using a large star cookie cutter, cut stars out of the slices of bread, avoiding the crust. Using a grill or a small George Foreman, grill your bread until you have nice grill marks. Then, prepare your sandwich and stick a toothpick through the middle to hold all the ingredients in place. Now you'll have a delicious little snack that is also patriotic!

2. Fruit Skewers with marshmallow Dipping Sauce. For the dipping sauce, you'll need:
  • 8 oz. of reduced fat cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Zest from lemon
  • 1 tbsp. milk
While the type of fruit on your skewer is completely up to you, the marshmallow dipping sauce is what makes this snack truly delicious. First, beat the cream cheese until it is light and fluffy. Then, beat in the vanilla, fluff and lemon extract until smooth. If it is not soft enough to dip your fruit into, add the tbsp. of milk. It's that easy!

3. Bacon Cheddar Cheese Bread. You’ll need:
  • 1 loaf of Italian bread, unsliced
  • 8-12 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 oz. bacon bits
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Ranch dressing mix
First, cut your loaf of bread in both directions, using a criss-cross pattern. Make sure you don’t cut all the way through the crust - this keeps your ingredients from slipping out the bottom! Sprinkle your cheese in between the cuts, along with the bacon bits and any other toppings you might want to add. Mix together your butter and Ranch dressing mix, and then carefully pour over your loaf of bread. Wrap the entire loaf in foil, place on a baking sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Then unwrap and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Let your loaf cool and watch as your family and friends devour this delicious treat!

4. The Best Guacamole Ever. You'll need:
5 Snacks For the Holiday Weekend
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 red onion, minced
  • 2 tbsp. cilantro
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lime or lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. calt
  • 1/2 ripe tomato, seeds and pulp removed
The best part about this guacamole is the preparation - it's easy. You get to throw all these wonderful ingredients in a bowl and mix them together! Be careful not to mash the avocados too much, since you want it to be a little chunky. Other than that, mash away and then enjoy with chips!

5. Marshmallow Caramel Popcorn. You'll need:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 9-10 marshmallows
This recipe is super easy and really addicting. All you need to do is microwave brown sugar and butter for 2 minutes. Add the marshmallows to the mixture and microwave until melted - this could be anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. After the mixture is melted, pour over your favorite type of popcorn and serve when cool!

We hope that these 5 snacks for the holiday weekend come in handy when you're making your weekend preparations. Dirt-Detection Technology to be Introduced at Ford Plant

Dirt-Detection Technology to be Introduced at Ford Plant
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford Motor Company has announced that a dirt-detection technology will be introduced at a Ford Plant to ensure that the paint job on Ford vehicles is as close to perfect as possible. Currently, the technology is being used at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan and the Valencia Assembly Plant in Spain, but it will be introduced at the Louisville Assembly Plant.

This dirt-detection technology uses high-resolution cameras and reflected light to identify imperfections or dust on a vehicle. With the ability to detect flaws finer than a grain of sale, this system allows vehicle assembly operators to identify even the smallest imperfection and buff it out. This keeps your vehicle's paint job looking flawless!

The current system is not as effective, since it is simply the operators using light, white gloves and their own eyes to identify flaws. As the human eye can only detect so much, this system has its weaknesses. With the dirt-detection technology being introduced at Ford Plants, the percentage of vehicles with paint flaws is expected to be reduced drastically. Already, Ford has reported that customer complaints of vehicle surface finish has been reduced by 82 percent within one year.

If you'd like to see Ford's perfect paint job in person, stop by our Milford Area Ford Dealer today! We have a large selection of New Ford Trucks and New Ford Cars, all with impeccable surface quality. Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. Ford Studies Russian Space Robots to Make Your Car Safer

BRIGHTON, Mich. - Within the next few years, it is very likely that vehicle-to-vehicle communication will be common in Ford vehicles. This technology would be used for safety reasons, allowing vehicles to exchange anonymous data if they are nearby. This data would include things such as speed, position, etc. However, this technology is still in the beginning stages, with the kinks still being worked out. That's why Ford will now study Russian Space Robots to make your car safer - sound confusing? Let us explain.

Ford Studies Russian Space Robots to Make Your Car SaferCommunication between the International Space Station and earth is one of the most advanced communication models there is. This communication model will be analyzed by Ford to see how communication is sent to space, even when the system experiences an outage. Specifically, how the robots in space communicate with the robot caretakers at the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Russia.

By studying how communication works between earth and the Russian space robots, Ford will be able to improve its vehicle-to-vehicle communication system drastically. With the information collected, Ford will know how to create a communication network that will continue to function even if a car's data connection is damaged in a crash or the system fails. To put it simply, Ford is trying to create a way for vehicles to communicate with each other even if one vehicle's system goes offline. That means that if an accident occurs, drivers and their cars would receive an emergency message informing them about the damaged vehicle.

Ford studies Russian space robots to make your car safer. While this technology is still being developed, we still have a huge selection of New Ford Cars that come with safety features designed to make you feel secure and in control. To discuss what kind of features you're looking for specifically, stop by our Novi Area Ford Dealer today. One of our friendly and knowledgeable team members would be more than happy to go over features and details with you.

102 Year Old Man Named Honorary President of Ford Trucks

102 Year Old Man Named Honorary President of Ford Trucks
BRIGHTON, Mich. - A 102 year old man has been named the honorary president of Ford Trucks - but this isn't just any man. Floyd Pullin had just purchased his 16th Ford vehicle, a 2013 F-150, when he was honored with the title.

Having purchased 16 Ford vehicles in his lifetime, Pullin has witnessed the evolution of the Ford vehicle over the course of 87 years! In 1926, Pullin purchased the Model T from Ford Motor Company when it was still being run by Henry Ford himself. After owning the Model T, he loved the vehicle so much that he made Ford his brand of choice.

To thank Pullin for almost 9 decades of loyalty, Ford Motor Co. made Floyd the honorary president of Ford Trucks for a day - on his birthday! A special party was also held for him in his home state, complete with cake, a limo ride (something he had dreamed of riding in his whole life) and a video made especially for him by the Ford Trucks team (which you can watch below).

Ford Trucks are Built Ford Tough - and so is 102 year old Floyd who was named honorary president of Ford Trucks! Floyd knows that Ford Trucks are reliable, resilient and attractive trucks to own. Much like Ford did with Floyd, we will be happy to show you why Ford is the brand to own. So stop by our Novi Area Ford Dealer today!  We have a large selection of New Ford Trucks, as well as New Ford Cars, meaning you're sure to find something you'll love for years to come. So come on down and let us show you why it's always better with Ford.

2015 Ford Mustang Goes Face First

2015 Ford Mustang Goes Face First
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Everyone is talking about the newest Mustang model, hoping to catch glimpses of what the next generation pony car will look like. While we were able to see a completely covered 2015 Mustang out on the street, it's finally been spotted without some of its covering. The 2015 Ford Mustang goes face first in the above photograph, finally giving Mustang lovers a peek at what's to come.

2015 Ford Mustang Goes Face FirstThe 2015 Ford Mustang goes face first and it looks great! The front fascia is much more aggressive and menacing, as it has been influenced by the Evos concept and the 2014 Mustang. Using a nice combination of both vehicles, the new face of the Mustang is tough and fantastic.

As for other changes to the vehicle, it's hard to report much else. However, it is known that the 2015 Mustang will come with a base 3.7-liter V-6 engine, while the 2015 Mustang GT will receive an upgraded 5.0-liter V-8. It has also been revealed that the Mustang will be lighter and smaller - about 15 inches shorter in length, half a foot narrower, and 400 pounds lighter, to be exact.

Unfortunately, Ford is keeping the specs of the 2015 Ford Mustang tightly under wraps. While leaks appear every once in awhile, we won't know all the details until it is finally revealed on Ford's 50th anniversary next year. We do however have a variety of 2014 Ford Mustangs that you are more than welcome to come and take for a test drive. Our Novi Area Ford Dealer can take care of all your vehicle needs - from Used Car Loans to New Ford Cars, we've got you covered.

5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas
BRIGHTON, Mich. - School is right around the corner, which means a lot of preparations to get the kids ready. Between worrying about school supplies, schedules, or getting the kids on a good sleep schedule, we know that this time can get a little stressful. That's why we've put together 5 back-to-school lunchbox ideas to make things a little easier for you - instead of having one more thing to stress about, just copy our simple lunchbox ideas that the kids are sure to love.

5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas1. Peanut Butter and Banana Roll-ups. You'll need:
  • Peanut Butter
  • 1 Banana, Cut Up
  • 1 Wrap - We recommend 'Flatout Flatbread" (It's made in Michigan!)
Spread the peanut butter on the wrap, layer cut-up banana on top, roll up and cut! It's that simple! We also recommend using a toothpick to keep the roll in place.

2. Stackers. You'll need:
  • Meat (turkey, salami, ham, etc.)
  • Cheese (cubed or sliced)
  • Crackers
This is a great do-it-yourself lunch that allows the kids to make their own! It's very similar to a lunchable, as you just put the various toppings in a container and allow them to build their own sandwich/snack.

3. Ranch Chicken Nugget Wraps. You'll need:
  • 3-4 Chicken Nuggets, already cooked/warmed
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Ranch Dressing
  • 1 Wrap - 'Flatout Flatbread' is always recommended
Layer the nuggets and shredded cheese on wrap, spread ranch dressing into the fold of the wrap, then roll up. You can cut them in a similar style as the wrap above, but a full wrap works just as well.

4. Waffle Sandwich. You'll need:
  • 2 Waffles (cooked)
  • Cream Cheese
  • Cinnamon
  • Fruit of your choice
This delicious sandwich will taste more like dessert! Spread the cream cheese on the waffles, layer with cinnamon and the fruit of your choice, then put together like a sandwich. It's delicious and super easy to make!

5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas
5. Pigs-in-a-Blanket. You'll need:
  • Crescent Rolls
  • Turkey dogs (for a healthier alternative)

Next Generation Mustang Will Be Smaller and Lighter

BRIGHTON, Mich. - This appears to be the year of the Mustang for Ford, as they keep the Mustang information flowing in honor of the pony cars 50 year anniversary. This week, an inside employee has leaked that the next generation Mustang will be smaller and lighter.

The specifications, and even the appearance, of the 2015 Ford Mustang is being kept tightly under wraps. However, the source reveals that the Mustang will be 15 inches shorter in length and around 6 inches narrower - this would make the next generation Mustang the smallest in the pony car's history. By trimming the car this drastically, it's believed that the car will shed about 400 pounds - a huge plus for fuel economy!

While the details have not been released, you can almost guarantee that the next generation Mustang will be smaller and lighter. The vehicle is also believed to have a V6 and classic 5.0L V8 engine option. The unveiling of the vehicle will either happen this year at the Detroit Auto Show, or on April 17th, 2014 - the 50th anniversary.

While we have to wait to find out what's in store for Mustang lovers across the world, the 2014 Ford Mustang is on sale now. Details about both cars can be found on our website or at our Milford Area Ford Dealer. We are Milford, MI Used Car Dealer and are proud to have the largest selection of New Ford Cars and New Ford Trucks in Livingston County.
