Ford Will Boost Production of Ford Fusion

Ford Will Boost Production of Ford Fusion
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford has announced that they will boost production of the Ford Fusion, as the vehicle continues to sell quickly. On average, the Ford Fusions are only sitting on dealer lots for a mere 10 days! A vehicle will typically spend 50-60 days on a lot, depending on the dealer and the environment - so Ford will be forced to boost production of the Ford Fusion to keep up with the selling pace.

Ford will boost production by expanding the production capacity at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant - the same plant that will be using a simulated factory to train the new hires. By using the simulated factory, they can quickly and efficiently train large amounts of new hires, and get them on the lines to produce the Fusion. This will increase the production by about 10,000 vehicle per month.

Once the production rate increases on the Ford Fusions, the 2014 models will appear on dealer lots - including our own! Expect the 2014 Fusion to be available to buy in the fall. If you don't want to wait for the newest model, you can take a look at our 2013 Ford Fusion Brochure. If you'd like to take it for a test drive, stop by our Milford Area Ford Dealer today and we'll get you all set up! Our talented and knowledgeable sales staff can help you with everything from test drives, to Car Loans, to New Ford Trucks. So stop by and say hello today!

BRIGHTON, Mich. - The Ford Motor Company's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan is about to change the way new employees are trained. The first plant in Michigan to do so, the Flat Rock Assembly Plant and Ford will train new employees with a simulated factory. This specific plant is in charge of producing the Ford Fusion, a vehicle so in demand that the plant has recently had to hire a large amount of Michigan community members.

Ford Will Train New Employees With Simulated FactoryThe large hiring initiative ended up adding approximately 1,400 new employees, all of which will work on the 2014 Ford Fusion. These new hires will learn how to perform on the line and more, all from a simulated factory. This simulation will teach them everything from what gloves to wear, to tasks they will be asked to perform on the line, to fixing an alternator on an engine.

The simulation will have 10 stations which factory workers will rotate to every 40 minutes. Ford has announced that it will be standard to train new employees with the simulated factory, from here on out.

Ford Data Reveals 60 Percent of Plug-In Vehicle Trips Are Gas-Free

Ford Data Reveals 60 Percent of Plug-In Vehicle Trips Are Gas-Free
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford Hybrid owners appear to be taking advantage of their gas-free electric range, as recent Ford data reveals 60 percent of plug-in vehicle trips are gas-free! Ford collects the data from the MyFord Mobile app in order to see how often their hybrids are in electric mode, how efficient the vehicle is being overall, how much energy is being consumed, and driving scores.

The data collected is in no way connected to individual drivers, as the data is collected as an overall group that helps Ford continue to deliver the best possible ownership experience to you. If you own a hybrid or battery-electric vehicle such as the Fusion Energi, C-MAX Energi and Focus electric, MyFord Mobile is available to you.
Ford Data Reveals 60 Percent of Plug-In Vehicle Trips Are Gas-Free

The MyFord Mobile is a great app as it allows you to locate a charging station, track how efficient your vehicle is being, and more! One great addition to the app that is worth noting is the Trip & Charge Log. This allows drivers to track how much energy was used and average fuel economy on a recent trip. The app also has a feature called 'My GO Time' which allows you to schedule your car to turn on the heat/air to make your vehicle comfortable, as well as make sure that it's charged and ready to go when you are!

The Ford data reveals 60 percent of plug-in vehicle trips are gas-free - a percentage that continues to creep up daily. The Ford data has also revealed that 6 million charging stations are found every month through MyFord mobile; the average charge time for each electric vehicle is 185 minutes; and 84% of one-way trips are of distances 20 miles or less.

If you're interested in looking at a Ford Electric Vehicle, or would like to know more about the MyFord Mobile App, stop by our Wixom Area Ford Dealership today! Our Brighton Ford team members would be more than happy to assist you with any of your vehicle needs. While you're here, take a look at our New Ford Trucks or Ford Cars For Sale!

Production of Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 Will Stop After 2014

Production of Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 Will Stop After 2014
BRIGHTON, Mich. - It has been officially announced that production of the Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 will stop after the 2014 model. Orders for the customized Mustang will be taken through the end of the year, but stopped after the 2014 Mustang.

When asked why production will be ceasing, the president of Shelby American stated that it needs to keep the Shelby GT350 limited. One of the biggest appeals of buying a Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 is that it is a limited production vehicle that is highly valuable and collectible.  By stopping production of the GT350, Shelby American can ensure that their vehicles stay valuable and limited.
Production of Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 Will Stop After 2014

The first Shelby GT350 debuted on January 27, 1965 in Riverside, CA. The release of this vehicle was a great moment in automobile history, since it was the first time that a bigger engine was put into a small, lightweight car.

Although the production of the Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 will stop after 2014, there's still time to get one of these collectible vehicles. 5 Things You Might Not Know About Henry Ford

5 Things You Might Not Know About Henry Ford
BRIGHTON, Mich. - 150 years after his birth, July 30th marks what would be Henry Ford's 150th birthday. Born in Dearborn on July 30, 1863, he built his first car in 1896 and founded Ford Motor Company seven years later. To remember this great men and all that he accomplished, here are 5 things you might not know about Henry Ford.

1. Henry Ford and Thomas Edison were great friends! Before Henry Ford become the automobile man that he's known for, he worked for Thomas Edison at the Edison Illuminating Company from 1891 to 1898. They become longtime friends and would frequently vacation together - sometimes President Warren G. Harding would tag along.

2. Ford Motor Company wasn't his first car company, but actually his third! The first was the Detroit Automobile Company, the second the Henry Ford Company, and then finally the Ford Motor Company that survives today. The other two companies were dissolved because of Henry Ford's dissatisfaction with the high prices and low quality of the cars being made.

3. Henry Ford built an entire town named Fordlandia. This town exists in the middle of the Amazon and was built on the idea that it would be a self-reliant town that could produce the rubber for the tires on Ford vehicles. It ended up failing and the town stands empty and abandoned to this day.

4. He ran for U.S. Senate and almost won! He ran as a Democrat for a Senate seat in Michigan, but only because of the insistent pleas of President Woodrow Wilson. Ford refused to spend a penny on the election and still only lost by 4,500 votes out of 40,000.

5. Ford was awarded 161 unique patents! Some of the patents include ethanol as a fuel source, charcoal briquettes made of scrap wood, and the development of alternative plastics made from soybeans.

Henry Ford's history is well known throughout the world, however, we hope you enjoyed these 5 things you might now know about Henry Ford. The maker of many great vehicles, we'd love for you to stop by our Wixom Area Ford Dealer today and check out his legacy. Ford is Named the Top Brand in America

Ford is Named the Top Brand in America
BRIGHTON, Mich. - YouGov.com has just announced that Ford has been named the Top Brand in America by consumers. Out of the 1,100 biggest brands in the country, Ford has been chosen as the best-perceived brand in the U.S. This achievement is even sweeter since Ford Motor Company is the only automobile brand to make the top ten.

YouGov releases Brand Index rankings twice a year to show America's best perceived brands. This mid-year ranking found Ford to be number one, having beat out brands such as Amazon, Lowe's and Subway. Last year, Ford was ranked the best perceived automotive manufacturer by YouGov; this year, Ford has dominated the other brands by being the best-perceived overall brand in the country.

Ford is Named the Top Brand in AmericaThe Brand Index that YouGov uses to determine the rankings of the brands, asks survey participants whether they've heard anything positive or negative about the brand in the last two weeks. The responses, both positive and negative, are then combined into the Buzz score which gives YouGov the ratings of the public's brand perception.

5,000 Americans participated in the YouGov survey that resulted in Ford being named the Top Brand in America. There are numerous reasons why Ford has been named number one, however, YouGov seemed to suggest that Ford's refusal of bailout money during the Great Recession played a big part in how the country views the automotive company.

If you'd like to see for yourself why Ford Motor Company is the Top Brand in America, stop by our Used Car Dealership serving New Hudson, MI.
