5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas

5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas
BRIGHTON, Mich. - School is right around the corner, which means a lot of preparations to get the kids ready. Between worrying about school supplies, schedules, or getting the kids on a good sleep schedule, we know that this time can get a little stressful. That's why we've put together 5 back-to-school lunchbox ideas to make things a little easier for you - instead of having one more thing to stress about, just copy our simple lunchbox ideas that the kids are sure to love.

5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas1. Peanut Butter and Banana Roll-ups. You'll need:
  • Peanut Butter
  • 1 Banana, Cut Up
  • 1 Wrap - We recommend 'Flatout Flatbread" (It's made in Michigan!)
Spread the peanut butter on the wrap, layer cut-up banana on top, roll up and cut! It's that simple! We also recommend using a toothpick to keep the roll in place.

2. Stackers. You'll need:
  • Meat (turkey, salami, ham, etc.)
  • Cheese (cubed or sliced)
  • Crackers
This is a great do-it-yourself lunch that allows the kids to make their own! It's very similar to a lunchable, as you just put the various toppings in a container and allow them to build their own sandwich/snack.

3. Ranch Chicken Nugget Wraps. You'll need:
  • 3-4 Chicken Nuggets, already cooked/warmed
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Ranch Dressing
  • 1 Wrap - 'Flatout Flatbread' is always recommended
Layer the nuggets and shredded cheese on wrap, spread ranch dressing into the fold of the wrap, then roll up. You can cut them in a similar style as the wrap above, but a full wrap works just as well.

4. Waffle Sandwich. You'll need:
  • 2 Waffles (cooked)
  • Cream Cheese
  • Cinnamon
  • Fruit of your choice
This delicious sandwich will taste more like dessert! Spread the cream cheese on the waffles, layer with cinnamon and the fruit of your choice, then put together like a sandwich. It's delicious and super easy to make!

5 Back-to-School Lunchbox Ideas
5. Pigs-in-a-Blanket. You'll need:
  • Crescent Rolls
  • Turkey dogs (for a healthier alternative)
  • Cheese
This is a great option if you have time to prepare them the night before. Simply wrap the turkey dogs in the crescent rolls with cheese, and cook for less than 10 minutes. They are sure to be an instant favorite! We hope these 5 back-to-school lunchbox ideas help you with packing a quick lunch that is both tasty and healthy.

Next Generation Mustang Will Be Smaller and Lighter

BRIGHTON, Mich. - This appears to be the year of the Mustang for Ford, as they keep the Mustang information flowing in honor of the pony cars 50 year anniversary. This week, an inside employee has leaked that the next generation Mustang will be smaller and lighter.

The specifications, and even the appearance, of the 2015 Ford Mustang is being kept tightly under wraps. However, the source reveals that the Mustang will be 15 inches shorter in length and around 6 inches narrower - this would make the next generation Mustang the smallest in the pony car's history. By trimming the car this drastically, it's believed that the car will shed about 400 pounds - a huge plus for fuel economy!

While the details have not been released, you can almost guarantee that the next generation Mustang will be smaller and lighter. The vehicle is also believed to have a V6 and classic 5.0L V8 engine option. The unveiling of the vehicle will either happen this year at the Detroit Auto Show, or on April 17th, 2014 - the 50th anniversary.

While we have to wait to find out what's in store for Mustang lovers across the world, the 2014 Ford Mustang is on sale now. Details about both cars can be found on our website or at our Milford Area Ford Dealer. We are Milford, MI Used Car Dealer and are proud to have the largest selection of New Ford Cars and New Ford Trucks in Livingston County. Ford Will Use Recycled Materials in F-150

Ford Will Use Recycled Materials in F-150
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford has announced plans to incorporate recycled materials in the F-150, starting with the 2014 model. The new truck most likely use rice hulls (a byproduct of rice grain) to make the plastic in wire harnesses stronger. To be able to do this in every Ford F-150, they will need about 45,000 pounds of hulls in the first year alone - a product that is supplied by RheTech based in Whitmore Lake, MI.

Ford will use recycled materials in the F-150, including:
  • Recycled Carpet
  • Recycled Cotton for the Carpet
  • Soybeans to Make Seat Cushions, Seat Backs and Head Restraints
  • Recycled Tires to Make Shields and Under Body Covers
  • Recycled Plastic Soda and Water Bottles to Make Wheel Liners and Shields
  • Recycled Post-Industrial Plastics for Interior Finish Panels
Ford has made a commitment to be more sustainable and green, having set goals over the next decade to fulfill that promise. With the Better Buildings Challenge, Ford has vowed to update manufacturing facilities with energy-efficient equipment and large-scale lighting - this will reduce the carbon footprint of the company. Ford Motor Co. has also announced that they will produce a F-150 hybrid by 2020 at the latest, as well as allow the 2014 Ford F-150 to be CNG-compatible (with the right equipment).

2013 Ford Focus Receives Highest Possible Safety Rating

2013 Ford Focus Receives Highest Possible Safety Rating
BRIGHTON, Mich. - The 2013 Ford Focus has received the highest possible safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The highest possible safety rating is the 'Top Safety Pick+' and was only awarded to 6 vehicles in the small car segment - the Ford Focus being one of them.

Ford is committed to designing vehicles that are both efficient and safe, allowing the driver and the vehicle's passengers to feel secure. Being awarded the Top Safety Pick+ validates that Ford is accomplishing what it set out to do. The Ford Focus is built with an ultra-high-strength steel structure that absorbs and redirects crash forces - this protects everyone in the vehicle by keeping the vehicle from folding in.

The 2013 Ford Focus received the highest possible safety rating, but only after having passed four evaluations. Vehicles must earn a "good" rating for occupant protection in moderate overlap frontal crash, side impact, rollover, and seats/head restraints. "Good" is the highest that a vehicle can score, while the lowest score is "poor". The Ford Focus was rated "good" in each of the four categories.

If you'd like to take a look at the 2013 Ford Focus - a vehicle that was also voted best selling car in the world - stop by our Milford Area Ford Dealer today! Final 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 to be Auctioned for Charity

Final 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 to be Auctioned for Charity
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Earlier this week, we wrote about how Ford would be ceasing production of the Shelby Ford Mustang to ensure that the vehicle remains collectible and highly valuable. Now Ford has announced that the final 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 will be auctioned for charity. As the final Shelby Ford Mustang to roll off the lot, this piece of history is sure to go for a pretty penny at the auction.

The final 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 will be auctioned for charity at the Hot August Nights Auction in Nevada. All proceeds will go to the Brain Injury Association of America - an organization that promotes awareness, understanding and prevention of brain injury through education, advocacy, and more.

Simply because this Mustang will be the last to roll off the line, the winning bidder will have the opportunity to completely customize his or her 2014 Shelby Mustang. This means they will be able to design the interior, exterior and stripe color combination, making sure that they own a car that fits their unique tastes and style.

The 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 will come with a supercharged 5.8-liter V-8 that will produce 662 hp and 613 lb-ft of torque. It will also have a sticker price of about $60,445 but is expected to go for quite a bit more at auction.

If you'd like to discuss buying your own 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 before the Shelby name goes into retirement, stop by our Novi Area Ford Dealer today! Our friendly team has the knowledge to help you with everything from Car Loans to purchasing a New Ford Truck. So stop by today and say hello!

Average Age of Cars at All Time High

Average Age of Cars at All Time High
BRIGHTON, Mich. - An automobile industry research firm has recently discovered that the average age of cars is at an all time high. Collecting data from over 247 million cars and trucks on the road in the United States, it's been revealed that the average age of vehicles is 11.4 years.

The average age of cars is at an all time high, up from 11.2 years since just last year and up 2 full years since 2007. The main reason that the age of vehicles is on the rise is simple: cars are just lasting longer. With the introduction of new technology and the dedication to producing quality vehicles, cars and trucks are able to live much longer than they did in the past.

The data also revealed that the annual percentage of cars and trucks sent to the scrap yard has dropped 50% since the recession. These numbers are expected to continue to improve, as vehicles are expected to reach the age 12 or older in the next five years. The total number of vehicles on U.S. roads is also expected to increase by 5%, making the total number more than 260 million in five years.

If you'd like to invest in one of our quality vehicles that is sure to last you for years to come, stop by our Novi Area Ford Dealer today! Ford Will Boost Production of Ford Fusion

Ford Will Boost Production of Ford Fusion
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Ford has announced that they will boost production of the Ford Fusion, as the vehicle continues to sell quickly. On average, the Ford Fusions are only sitting on dealer lots for a mere 10 days! A vehicle will typically spend 50-60 days on a lot, depending on the dealer and the environment - so Ford will be forced to boost production of the Ford Fusion to keep up with the selling pace.

Ford will boost production by expanding the production capacity at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant - the same plant that will be using a simulated factory to train the new hires. By using the simulated factory, they can quickly and efficiently train large amounts of new hires, and get them on the lines to produce the Fusion. This will increase the production by about 10,000 vehicle per month.

Once the production rate increases on the Ford Fusions, the 2014 models will appear on dealer lots - including our own! Expect the 2014 Fusion to be available to buy in the fall. If you don't want to wait for the newest model, you can take a look at our 2013 Ford Fusion Brochure. If you'd like to take it for a test drive, stop by our Milford Area Ford Dealer today and we'll get you all set up! Ford Will Train New Employees With Simulated Factory

Ford Will Train New Employees With Simulated Factory
BRIGHTON, Mich. - The Ford Motor Company's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan is about to change the way new employees are trained. The first plant in Michigan to do so, the Flat Rock Assembly Plant and Ford will train new employees with a simulated factory. This specific plant is in charge of producing the Ford Fusion, a vehicle so in demand that the plant has recently had to hire a large amount of Michigan community members.

Ford Will Train New Employees With Simulated FactoryThe large hiring initiative ended up adding approximately 1,400 new employees, all of which will work on the 2014 Ford Fusion. These new hires will learn how to perform on the line and more, all from a simulated factory. This simulation will teach them everything from what gloves to wear, to tasks they will be asked to perform on the line, to fixing an alternator on an engine.

The simulation will have 10 stations which factory workers will rotate to every 40 minutes. Ford has announced that it will be standard to train new employees with the simulated factory, from here on out.
