The Ford Fusion Made a 100% Jump In Sales Since Its 2005 Launch

BRIGHTON, Mich. - Recently Ford Motor Co. announced that the Ford Fusion made a 100% jump in sales since its 2005 launch! Let's check how the Fusion made out against its main competition: the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry. The Fusion jumped from 142,000 vehicles sold in 2006, it's first year of sale, to 306,000 in 2014. The Honda Accord went from 354,000 vehicles sold to 388,000 while the Toyota Camry sales fell, from 448,000 vehicles sold to 428,000.

In its short yet successful life, the Fusion has taken home multiple awards including Motor Trend 2010 Car of the Year, J.D Power and Associates Most Dependable Midsize Car for the Money in 2012 U.S News and World Report, and many others. Since its 2013 complete model redesign, the Fusion not only brought sexy back to the "vanilla" midsize segment but it also brought back sales numbers.

Erich Merkle, Ford Sales Analyst states that, "Fusion is achieving growth in all the right places, especially in California, the largest midsize sedan market in the country, followed by Texas. Since its introduction, Fusion has grown at almost six times the rate of the overall segment."

Company Is Donating Seven Vehicles To The DAV Transportation Network

BRIGHTON, Mich. - Since 1974, Ford Fund has contributed nearly $9.3 million to veteran organizations and this year Ford Motor Company is donating seven vehicles to the DAV Transportation Network. Ford will donate seven Ford Flex utility vehicles to the DAV which will become part of the DAV Transportation Network that enlists volunteer drivers to take sick and disabled veterans to VA medical centers across the country.

The vehicles will be deployed to multiple DAV locations around the country including Little Rock, Ark.; Iowa City, Iowa; Iron Mountain, Mich.; Omaha, Neb.; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City; and Seattle. Along with the Flex utility vehicles, the Ford Fund will be sponsoring DAV 5K walks this autumn in Atlanta, Cincinnati and San Diego and will continue supporting the Jesse Brown Memorial Youth Foundation which provides scholarships to young men and women who have volunteered their time to help the disabled veterans of their communities.
Ford Motor Company is donating seven vehicles to the DAV Transportation Network this year while Ford's support for veterans continues to evolve to meet their changing needs. Ford Developing Advanced Lighting System To ID Potential Driving Hazards Before The Driver Does

Ford Developing Advanced Lighting System To ID Potential Driving Hazards Before The Driver Does

BRIGHTON, Mich. - Wouldn't it be great if your vehicle could help you actually "see" the road? Well you're in luck because Ford is developing an advanced lighting system to ID potential driving hazards before the driver does. This incredible new technology is called the Camera-Based Advanced Front Lighting System, and is one of the most exciting safety features Ford has ever produced!

This new system adds to Ford's current Adaptive Front Lighting System and Traffic Sign Recognition, which are already available in the current Ford lineup. These features improve visibility for drivers in badly-lit areas, as well as roundabouts and stop, give-away or yield signs.

This system is truly state-of-the-art! The Camera-Based Advanced Front Lighting System can spotlight hazards with a spot and a stripe on the road surface, which is illuminated by two special LED lamps next to the fog lights. The highlighted object shows on the display screen inside the car and is boxed by a red or yellow frame, depending on the proximity of the object and the level of danger presented.

The fact that Ford is developing an advanced lighting system to ID potential driving hazards before the driver does further fortifies Ford Motor Company as one of the industry-leading producers in safety features and technology. If you would like to get a first-hand look at the current Ford safety systems integrated into its vehicles, stop by your local Howell Area Used Car Dealer today! We have tons of new and used vehicles for you to check out, or even take them out for a test drive. Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. For more information on Brighton Ford visit BrightonFord.com or give us a call at (800) 836-8206.

Drowsy Driving Is Just As Dangerous As Drunk Driving

Drowsy Driving Is Just As Dangerous As Drunk Driving

BRIGHTON, Mich. - As a driver, we are al well versed in the dangers of drunk driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and road rage... but what about drowsy driving? Did you know that drowsy driving is JUST as dangerous as drunk driving? A tired or fatigued driver is a dangerous driver according to multiple studies, including a recent NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) study that concluded there was up to 100,000 cases of drowsy driving incidents or crashes every year. Of those 100,00, there are an average 1,500 deaths and 70,000 injuries.

Contrary to popular belief, less than 1% of these fatigue related crashes or incidents are caused by semi-truck drivers due to a recent federal law that truckers can only drive for 10 hours in a 24 hour period. Did you also know that in a recent study nine out of ten North American police officers had pulled someone over they thought was drunk driving, but were actually just tired? Both drunk driving and drowsy driving have similar tell-tale signs. These include slower reaction times, decreased awareness, impaired judgement and increased aggressiveness.

So, how do you fight drowsy driving? It's easy, first you have to recognize it. Here are some tell-tale signs that you might need to pull over and take a quick cat nap!

  • You cannot remember the last few miles driven.
  • You hit a rumble strip or drift from your lane.
  • You keep pulling your vehicle back into your lane.
  • Your thoughts are wandering and disconnected.
  • You yawn repeatedly.
  • You have difficulty keeping your head up and remaining focused.
  • You tailgate.
  • You miss traffic signs.
  • You have barely avoided being in an accident.
Now of course we all yawn, and have been know to tailgate however if you're doing five of the listed things at the same time...it may be time to get off at the next exit and dose.

At Brighton Ford, we want you to be the safe you can be while driving on the road, and that means recognizing that drowsy driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving. Thankfully, Ford Motor Company has come up with a few amazing technological safety features that help fight the fatigue! If you would like to learn more about these features, feel free to stop by your Howell Area Ford Dealership!

Customers Can Now Shop The Ford One-Stop 3D Car Store Online!

Customers Can Now Shop The Ford One-Stop 3D Car Store Online!

BRIGHTON, Mich. - We do not joke around here when we talk about how Ford Motor Company is always innovating and coming up with the most creative ways to make things easier, and a lot more fun, for their customers. Customers can now shop the Ford one-stop 3D car store online, which enables consumers to download digital images and printable files of Ford Motor Co. vehicles at the FIRST EVER automaker-licensed, one-stop 3D shop online.

The online Ford 3D Store offers printable files to its visitors that include the F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350R, Focus ST and Fiesta ST with more models coming later in the year. Mark Bentley, licensing manager for Ford Global Brand Licensing stated that "3D printing at home is a growing trend, and it makes sense for us to offer our customers a chance to make their own 3D Ford models." Ford currently uses 3D printing every day to quickly prototype parts, and now Ford wants to share that fun and excitement with their loyal fan base.

Sales of 3D printers are currently expected to exceed 1 million units by 2018, compared to the 44,000 sold annually in 2014. 3D printed models are available for order at 1/32nd scale in plastic, however going and purchasing a digital image allows customers to have a Ford model 3D printed to the scale they choose as well as with the material the desire. These can come from their own printer or an outside source, and professional printers can create a model in materials ranging from a soft plastic to sandstone and other materials.

Customers can now shop the Ford one-stop 3D car store online, and when a buyer purchases a model or digital design online, he or she must register with the site itself to ensure and agree that the item will not be used commercially. If you would like to talk more about any of the great ways Ford is always on the cusp of innovation, feel free to drop by! We would love to show you any of our new and used Ford models! Brighton Ford is located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. For more information on Brighton Ford visit BrightonFord.com or give us a call at (800) 836-8206.
