Ford Vehicles Connect with Apple's Siri

Ford Vehicles Connect with Apple's Siri
BRIGHTON, Mich - Ford Motor Company and their new partner, Automatic Labs, are giving Ford customers the opportunity to chat with Apple's Siri system while behind the wheel. From learning the local forecast to adjusting the thermostat at home, Ford customers will be able to do just about anything from the drivers seat.

Ford vehicles are getting connected with Apple's Siri, providing customers with a smarter and safer driving experience. Ford and Automatic Labs have created a small device that plugs into a port just below the steering wheel, connecting the driver's iPhone to their Ford's onboard computer. Aside from using Ford's SYNC AppLink, drivers are now able to push the press-to-talk button on the steering wheel and utilize all of the additional features that Siri has to offer.

Within the next few months, we will start to see select Ford vehicles connect with Apple's Siri. This $99.95 application will be compatible with only the iOS 8 update on the iPhone and vehicles equipped with SYNC or MyFord Touch. This includes the 2011-15 Ford Explorer, 2013-15 Flex, 2011-14 F-150, 2011-15 F-Series Super Duty and 2013-15 Taurus.

Ten Features the 2015 F-150 Team Thought Of So We Didn't Have To

BRIGHTON, Mich - It should come at no surprise when we say that when Ford Motor Company delivers, they really deliver. While developing driver-friendly features in the 2015 Ford F-150, Ford engineers took it upon themselves to think about all of their customers needs. We're talking current needs, potential needs, and needs we didn't even know we had yet! The 2015 F-150 should be a piece of cake to interact with thanks to these ten features that the 2015 F-150 team thought of so we didn't have to:

1. Hard buttons on the driver-side door keypad allow for customers to input by feel, instead of having to tilt their head back to see the numbers.

2. Beltlines on the front doors make for additional armrests.

3. Sculpted finger relief on the inside door handle allows for an easier hold.

4. All lighting, radio and climate controls are grouped together on the instrument panel.

5. The indents on the back side of the steering wheel help with maneuverability when backing up a trailer or off-roading.

6. Since Ford customers use their trucks for a different purpose, the MyView productivity screen can be customized so that the driver's top seven favorite gauges are in the main cluster on the F-150's 8-inch screen.

7. A customer's truck is their tool, so Ford chose not to include any radio or entertainment features on the instrument panel, aside from incoming calls and turn-by-turn directions. Entertainment information can be viewed exclusively in the center of the dashboard.

8. Rather than closing off the bottom portion of the steering wheel, Ford's four-spoke steering wheel allows for a comfortable grip on the lower portion of the wheel.

9. Grooves in the tailgate handle allow customers to open and close the tailgate with one hand.

10. Ford created the large box step with enough surface area for a full-size work boot to both stand on the step and to push it under the bed when it is not in use.

The ten features the 2015 F-150 team thought of so we didn't have to are just a few of the incredible enhancements on the all-new F-150. We can only expect great things from the stronger, more advanced and lighter 2015 F-150.
