The Ford F-150 is no stranger to winning prestigious awards. But this latest win might just be the most impressive to date!
Winning major awards is nothing new for the Ford F-150, America’s perennial best-selling truck. But when you take home the gold from an unbiased, independent, and notoriously picky publication like Consumer Reports, it’s certainly worth mentioning. Which is exactly why we’re impressed (but not exactly surprised) to see the Ford F-150 top Consumer Reports 10 Top Picks of 2018 in the full-size truck category.
To land on the coveted list, vehicles must be good at everything. Consumer Reports grades them based not only on their own rankings and real-world testing, but also through extensive owner surveys. Overall scores come from a combination of road-test performance, owner satisfaction, safety, and reliability. Consumer Reports conducts over 50 tests and surveys over a half-million owners. It’s about as thorough as an automotive test can get.
And it’s clear that CR is enamored with the Ford F-150. They call it an “impressive, innovative workhorse” that “pulls ahead of the pack thanks to its weight-reduction design and turbocharged six-cylinder engine.” They also refer to the truck’s “standout” fuel economy, “quick acceleration,” and “effortless towing ability.”
Couple that with a host of “clever features,” a “spacious rear seat,” and “ample room for tools and gear,” and you’ve got the makings of an outstanding truck. One that stands head and shoulders above the competition, both in sales figures and in the real world. So in case you were wondering, yes, the Ford F-150 is still the best truck you can buy. And, quite honestly, probably the best all-around vehicle on the market, period!

How To Get Reimbursed For Damage Done By A Pothole In Michigan
Here’s how to get reimbursed for damage done by a pothole.
If a pothole causes damage to your vehicle, it’s sometimes possible to be repaid by the city, county, or state for some or all of the repairs.
Here’s how:
If your tire is damaged on a Michigan state road:
The first step is to fill out this form from the Michigan Department of Transportation. The form must be notarized, which can be done for free at many banks, and all written estimates/receipts need to be included. Then take the completed form and documentation to any MDOT office.
If your tire is damaged on a Wayne County road:
Proof of insurance and receipts of estimates/repairs are required along with this form.
They can either be mailed or brought to the Wayne County Risk Management Claims Division, 500 Griswold, 20th Floor, Detroit.
If your tire is damaged on a Macomb County road:
This form can either be mailed, emailed or faxed to the Macomb County Department of Roads. The county suggests attaching photographs.
If your tire is damaged on an Oakland County road:
This is the only county where everything can be done online here. An electronic signature and the contact info for witnesses are required to complete the claim.
If your tire is damaged on a City of Detroit road:
The city requires the most proof when it comes to getting reimbursed for a damaged car. You must include a copy of your insurance and registration along with photographs of the damage. Three estimates have to be included and sent to the City of Detroit Law Department Claims Section along with this form. Don’t forget to have it notarized.
The Lansing State Journal investigated damage claims paid out by MDOT and the city of Lansing. They reported that the chances of reimbursed for damages are low, sometimes zero, as the agency must have been notified about the pothole by another motorist before the damaged vehicle hit it.
