Plant A Pinwheel To Prevent Child Abuse - LACASA

LACASA Center’s Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Council hosts its annual Plant a Pinwheel Celebration each April to commemorate National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This year’s event is set for Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

The community gathers at the Howell Carnegie District Library for a presentation on child abuse prevention. The event culminates with children from area schools planting a Pinwheel Garden along the library’s front entrance.

Blue pinwheels are the national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. The pinwheel is an uplifting reminder of childhood and the bright futures that all children deserve.
The Pinwheel Garden project symbolizes the community’s commitment to protect the children of Livingston County.

LACASA’s Pinwheel Day is part of the national Pinwheels for Prevention campaign conducted each year by Prevent Child Abuse America.
