BRIGHTON, Mich - Last weekend at the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company's West Palm Beach event, a Hefty Bid on the "Need for Speed" Mustang helped to Benefit the Henry Ford Health System. The gracious bidder and now the owner of the custom-designed 2014 Ford Mustang GT goes by the name of Dave Flynn. His generous $300,000 donation will go right to the Henry Ford Health System, a nonprofit founded by Henry Ford to support the Edith and Benson Ford Heart and Vascular Institute. For Dave Flynn to snag such a unique Mustang model - 50 years after the birth of the original Mustang none the less - makes for quite the story. What makes his Mustang tale even more special? Knowing that he his generosity is helping others get access to healthcare.

Ford Mustang Performs Real Stunts in the Need for Speed Movie

BRIGHTON, Mich - Scott Waugh, director of the film "Need for Speed", took a genuine approach when it came to filming his latest movie. The Ford Mustang Performs Real Stunts in the Need for Speed Movie rather than giving computer-generated images all the credit. Waugh was a former stuntman himself and recognizes how an understanding of the law of physics plays a huge part in telling the story on camera. When physics are not parallel with the characters and storyline, it can take away from a film's authenticity.

Computer-generated images are great for superhero, science fiction or fantasy films, but Scott Waugh thought that utilizing the resources available to him would be much more effective. Seven modified 2014 Ford Mustangs were used for filming and were strategically set up to ensure the most safety while shooting. The crew used more than 40 different digital cameras to capture images of the 2014 Ford Mustang to successfully convince the audience the actors were really driving. For on-the-road sequences, a Supercharged 2013 Mustang GT was used as a camera car to capture close-in action shots to give viewers the true feeling of intense speed.

When it came to really getting behind the wheel, all of the actors were required to go through an intensive training at Willow Springs International Motorsports Park in California. There they learned how to handle the Mustang when drifting around corners and how to hit exact marks when driving. Of course, professional stunt drivers handled the complex shots, one even by the name of Vaughn Gittin Jr. Gittin was a champion drifter and could easily fling the all-new 2015 Mustang and place it exactly where Scott Waugh wanted it.

Need for Speed's "Hero Car" Headed to Barrett-Jackson Auction

BRIGHTON, Mich - The customized 2014 Ford Mustang GT "Hero Car" is Headed to the Barrett-Jackson Auction in West Pam Beach, Florida on April 12th. After its much anticipated role in the upcoming film "Need for Speed", the Mustang GT will be auctioned off to benefit the Henry Ford Health System. This non-profit group was founded by Henry Ford to improve the health and well-being of a deserve community. 

Ford built a custom-designed wide-bodied GT with Forgiato 22-inch wheels for "Need for Speed", which featured several amplified design elements. This particular model has a larger grille with new air intakes, extended rocker panels, a twin-snorkel hood and low-profile mirrors. A custom silver paint job with Kona Blue racing stripes is the perfect final touch. This paint job keeps the Mustang looking fast even when it is sitting in park. 

The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction will be a night to remember, providing more entertainment than just the auction of the 2014 Mustang GT. Attendees will also see the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang and 2015 Ford F-150 on display in South Florida for the first time! Ford will be treating the guests to a ride-and-drive experience at the event. From the 2014 lineup, the beloved Shelby GT500, Focus ST and Fiesta ST will all be primped and ready to be taken for a spin on April 12th. 

Need for Speed's Hero Car is headed to the Barrett-Jackson Auction on April 12th in West Palm Beach, Florida. About the Latest "Need for Speed" and Ford Mustang Ad

BRIGHTON, Mich - This past Sunday, the latest "Need for Speed" and Ford Mustang Ad debuted during the Daytona 500. The co-branded commercial brought two anticipated events into one and will be broadcasted this up-coming weekend for the world to see on television and in movie theaters.

The ad features scenes from the upcoming "Need for Speed" film, hitting theaters on March 14th, where main character Toby Marshall tries to get his life back on track. Toby Marshall is portrayed by Emmy-award winning actor, Aaron Paul, who drives across the country to avenge the death of his friend and redeem himself after a troubled life. The scenes of the ad are accompanied by a voiceover that begins to pave out the plot of the film. 

The ad closes with two clever lines "Do you really think that if you've been set up, accused and convicted, a new car can put it all behind you? Depends on the car!". The end of the ad also marked the official launch of the #InaMustang campaign. This social media campaign invites fans everywhere to share their stories of where they would, could, or want to go "In a Mustang". Fans are encouraged to visit http://ford.com/inamustang and submit their stories, photos, and videos. Ford along with partnered influential content creators with social and film networks are then looking to bring the fan's stories to life.

All-New Ford Mustang Has a "Need for Speed"

BRIGHTON, Mich - The All-New Ford Mustang Has a "Need for Speed" and will showcase it's full driving potential as it debuts in the "Need for Speed" film in March 2014. With the 50th anniversary of this iconic muscle car, director Scott Waugh could think of no better vehicle to feature in the film.

Watch out Hollywood, a new star is in town! On March 14th, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is going to light up the big screen in the "Need for Speed" movie. The film is based off the popular Electronic Arts franchise. Actor Aaron Paul will be driving the latest Mustang on it's first on-screen appearance as well as cruising around in the custom 2014 Mustang throughout the film.

 Scott Waugh knew the Mustang was the perfect match for Aaron Paul's character in "Need for Speed". The Mustang is both an automotive and pop-culture icon, featured in over 3,200 films and television shows. As an automotive celebrity, the Mustang was driven out onto a pad of wet cement outside of the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA. One of the six debut locations on December 5, 2013 now has the pony car's prints and signature logo stamped into cement for years to come.

"Need for Speed" fans were able to virtually drive the all-new Mustang with a free in-game downland that was released in mid-December. "Need for Speed Rivals" also allowed for players to customize their Mustang with one of five popular designs using Mustang Customizer.

The All-New Ford Mustang has a "Need for Speed" and will be making its Hollywood appearance in theaters on March 14, 2014. The Mustang is set to go on sale next fall.

Ford Mustang to Star in 2014 'Need for Speed' DreamWorks' Movie

BRIGHTON, Mich. - DreamWorks Studios has announced that a custom made Ford Mustang will star in their 2014 'Need for Speed' movie. Scheduled to be released March 14, 2014, both Ford and DreamWorks are excited about the collaboration.

According to the DreamWorks 'Need for Speed' website, the movie is based off of a driving game where a street racer, fresh from prison after being framed, becomes a part of a cross country race out of revenge. Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul has been cast in the lead role, while Michael Keaton and Kid Cudi are just a few of the names that will play alongside him.

As for where the Ford Mustang plays a part in this action packed film, the custom Ford Mustang will star in the 2014 'Need for Speed' movie as Aaron Paul's vehicle of choice. The custom Mustang has unique 22-inch alloy wheels, and larger air intakes for the supercharged V8 engine. It is sure to be an action packed car, for an even more exciting action movie.
