How the 2015 F-150 is Revolutionizing Truck Bed Cargo Management

How the 2015 F-150 is Revolutionizing Truck Bed Cargo Management
BRIGHTON, Mich - When Ford first released news about an aluminum-bodied pickup, many were skeptical if it could live up to all of the hype. As we all wait patiently for the 2015 F-150 to hit showrooms, Ford continues to leak more and more information about what separates this truck from the rest. You have seen dozens of articles about the F-150 shedding pounds, its max towing and hauling rates, and its impressive engine options. However this time around, the company is sharing game-changing details. Ford is now revealing how the 2015 F-150 is revolutionizing truck bed cargo management.

How the 2015 F-150 is Revolutionizing Truck Bed Cargo Management

Let's state the obvious. Ford customers are generally using their trucks to haul mass amounts of cargo. For starters, Ford equipped the truck with convenient LED box lights, a power locking and remote tailgate release that can be triggered with the push of a button on the key fob, and segment-first cargo ramps. Then of course Ford Motor Company decided to take to the next level of efficiency for management and stowage of cargo  with the 2015 F-150's patented BoxLink™ system. BoxLink includes four lockable, die-cast zinc tie-down cleats that provide an interface to the box for an improved level of flexibility and organization.

The BoxLink provides F-150 drivers with four additional tie-down locations in the box to complement the four fixed tie-down hooks.  From a horizontal load of 275 pounds to a diagonal load of 600 pounds, the BoxLink is in an area of the truck bed that accommodates all cargo loads no matter the size or shape. Ford's ultimate goal for revolutionizing truck bed cargo management is to allow customers to optimize the BoxLink system and to provide even more personalized solutions for the pickup truck bed.

How Ford's Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection Helps to Avoid Frontal Crashes

How Ford's Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection Helps to Avoid Frontal Crashes
BRIGHTON, Mich - We have heard it time and time again; Ford strives to provide their customers with the latest and greatest technology to enhance the overall driving experience. With that being said, it should come at no surprise that the innovative leaders at Ford Motor Company have something up their sleeves yet again. Now the real questions is, what differs this system from the rest?

Joining the laundry list of driver-assist technologies is Ford's Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection to help to avoid frontal crashes. This advanced system unlike any other is making its debut on the 2015 Ford Mondeo in Europe and then will proceed onto other Ford and Lincoln products worldwide. The Pre-Collision Assist will help to reduce the severity of or completely eliminate frontal collisions with vehicles and pedestrians.

Now, how exactly does Ford's Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection help to avoid front crashes? The answer: an advanced radar and camera technology that is able to scan the roadway ahead of the vehicle, detecting any possible collisions with a vehicle or pedestrian. If a risk occurs, the driver is immediately given an audible and visual warning. If the driver does not respond in time, the system is able to automatically reduce the vehicle's speed and apply a full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or eliminate, a forward collision.

While this system is extremely beneficial for unexpected situations, it does not replace the driver and the need of alertness. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection does have some limitations during nighttime, low lighting conditions, vehicles moving in a different direction, and certain weather conditions. Customers are encouraged to utilize this system as a driving aid and not in lieu of personal awareness.

We are located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction. Ford Reveals 2015 F-150 Max Towing & Hauling Rates

Ford Reveals 2015 F-150 Max Towing & Hauling Rates
BRIGHTON, Mich - Back in January, Ford Motor Company made big promises about the 2015 F-150's capabilities, saying it would set new standards and completely change the light-duty pickup segment. Many of these statements more than likely received a sarcastic comment or a "yeah, okay, sure" eye roll in return, but it is now quite evident that Ford was not messing around.

Ford has revealed the 2015 F-150's max towing and hauling rates, providing customers with the numbers they needed to show that this aluminum-based vehicle is NO joke! The 2015 F-150 will be able to tow up to 12,200 pounds and haul up to 3,300 pounds in the bed; topping both the Chevy Silverado's 12,000 pound max trailer weight and the Ram 1500's 10,650 pound top tow rating by a long shot!

How did the 2015 F-150 obtain these impressive max towing and hauling rates? Well aside from utilizing high-strength, military grade aluminum, Ford simply by followed SAE-recommended practices. SAE recommends that manufacturers keep the entire vehicle intact when determining their ratings, so Ford did not break down their numbers by body style or configuration.

Get ready for the 2015 Ford F-150 to hit the Brighton Ford showroom VERY soon! For more information about the light-duty pickup, feel free to visit us at the dealership! We are located at 8240 Grand River Ave. just north of I-96 in Brighton. We are a family owned and operated business that strives for customer satisfaction.
