The Ford Mustang Rolls Out With Two New Packages

2016 Ford Mustang GT Convertible with the California Special Package

BRIGHTON, Mich. - It's only May and the muscle car wars are beginning to heat up! This past Saturday, GM revealed the 2016 Camaro to the world but not before the Ford Mustang rolls out with two new packages; the California Special and the Pony Package. Both hark back to two trim levels made popular in the '60s. Both packages will go on sale this fall, the same time that the new Camaro will roll into dealerships.

Ford introduced the sixth-generation of the Mustang for the 2015 model year and the infamous pony car was made available to the world for the first time ever, with Ford selling the Mustang to Europe and Asia. This pony car is a pure world trotter! The new 50th Anniversary Mustang comes with new wheels and racing stripes among the dozens of new options designed to allow Mustang owners to better customize their cars.

The Pony Package is offered on the Premium trim level of the fastback and upgrades the car with unique 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, tri-bar pony logo on the grille, side stripe and chrome window surround. The Pony Package also has a Black Accent Package for the GT fastback and the convertible with special 10-inch black painted alloy wheels, blacklid spoiler, dark taillamp trim, and 5.0 pony logos in black (TRUST us, it looks SO SWEET). 

The California Package is also available for Mustang GT Premium owners and has an endless list of features including 19-inch ebony-painted machined aluminum wheels, unique grille, door panel inserts and carpet, aluminum dashboard finish with California Special badge, hood and side stripes, a black spoiler, faux gas cap, black mirrors and hood vents.
