Silas The Abandon Dog Needs His Forever Home!

Hi there everyone my name is Silas! I’m named after a really cool kid that came to the shelter last week and adopted one of my friends named Robin.

One rainy night in the middle of April some people took me on a ride and dropped me off in the rain in the parking lot of this wonderful Shelter.  That was a very scary thing, and I wish they would have done it differently but I am grateful that one woman who works at this shelter came back that evening to check on things and found me alone and quivering. I was waiting right where the people dropped me off wondering if they were coming back.

Well the nice lady invited me into her car and drove me the rest of the way towards the entrance. I wondered if they had been expecting me because she marched me right in to a very comfortable spacious kennel with a huge down comforter on our bed that was elevated off of the ground.

Wow I thought, what did I do to deserve this? There was music playing and fairy lights above and the nice lady made me a big bowl of food. She sat with me that night to make sure that I wasn’t scared anymore. She kept telling me how beautiful my brindle coat was, and assured me that everything was going to be OK from that moment on. And so far she’s kept her word. I have plenty of toys, I get two great meals a day, and people play with me multiple times a day. I know this isn’t a home but for the time being I think I hit the jackpot!

When you get a chance to come out and meet me at the Humane Society of Livingston County, my pictures are deceiving I’m actually on the small side.  I am going to make a wonderful addition to somebody’s family I’m super excited for my future.
