Ford Motor Company Pledges Energy Reduction With Better Buildings Challenge

Ford Motor Company Pledges Energy Reduction With Better Buildings Challenge

BRIGHTON, Mich.- Think about how much energy is used, and even wasted, by those huge commercial and industrial buildings? Last year alone, commercial buildings and industrial plants accounted for roughly 50% of U.S. energy consumption, costing close to $400 billion. The Department of Energy's Better Buildings Challenge, an initiative by President Obama, is calling businesses to improve the energy efficiency of their commercial and industrial buildings, and Ford Motor Company is the only U.S. automaker to accept the challenge!

As part of the Department of Energy's Better Buildings Challenge, Ford Motor Company has pledged to reduce energy consumption! Over the course of 10 years Ford will continue its long-term commitment to protecting the environment by improving manufacturing techniques and reducing energy consumption over 61 million square feet in 25 plants, thats more than 1,000 football fields!

This is just another reason we're proud to be your Howell Area Ford Dealer! Not to mention the national recognition that Ford has already received for the company's responsible use of natural resources, paint process improvements, and updated manufacturing facilites with energy-efficient equipment and large-scale lighting replacements.
