Colonel Is Still Looking For His Forever Home!

Colonel, the Brighton Ford Pet Of The Week back in December, came to the Humane Society of Livingston County grossly obese and is on an extreme makeover diet!  He is still looking for his forever home!  He was the Companion Animal for an elderly man who passed away and Colonel's desperately looking for someone to connect with and serve in that way once again.  He is a black and white Cattle dog mix that is 7 years old. He needs someone who would commit to a disciplined exercise program with great nutrition.  He's anxious at the shelter because it's overwhelming for him there, so make your home Colonel's forever home.  He would probably be best as an only child where someone could focus their attention solely on him.  Colonel loves going for long walks and spending time outside, he would be a great family dog with someone who is able to give him a safe wonderful haven for the rest of his life.  Call the Humane Society of Livingston County to schedule some time with Colonel at 517-552-8050.

Rufus Is One Awesome Cat Looking For His Forever Home For The Holidays

My name is Rufus. I am a big, handsome two year old, black short hair (neutered) male with golden eyes. I was abandoned outdoors with my siblings and, thankfully, taken in by a nice family who cared for us, but had several other cats, so thought it best for us to find a new home of our own. I am a VERY SHY, but SWEET boy when it comes to meeting new people. My former owner says I am well behaved, always used my litter box, and LOVED their other cats -- wanting to be friends even if they hissed at me. I also LOVE to watch birds out the window and very playful once I feel safe. I would be SO HAPPY to find a quiet, loving, indoor home with another cat companion or two – my sisters Simba and Carly already found a home, so maybe you could adopt me with another nice cat?

Adopt Colonel, The 7 Year Old Cattle Dog Mix

Colonel, the Brighton Ford Pet Of The Week, came to the Humane Society of Livingston County grossly obese and is on an extreme makeover diet!  He was the Companion Animal for an elderly man who passed away and Colonel’s desperately looking for someone to connect with and serve in that way once again.  He needs someone who would commit to a disciplined exercise program with great nutrition.  He’s anxious at the shelter because it’s overwhelming for him there, so make your home Colonel’s forever home just in time for the holidays.

Adopt Katness Everdeen, The Brighton Ford Pet Of The Week

Super sweet, gentle, little girl who is less than a year old!

My name is Katness Everdeen. I am an adorable, super-sweet, gentle, short hair black and white (spayed) female with beautiful green eyes who is less than 1 year old. I was abandoned without any information and so thankful to be at the Humane Society receiving the care I need to find a home. I was very shy when I first came here and a bit overwhelmed when around other animals, but now I am much more confident and playful! Just sprinkle a little catnip on my toys and I become a happy little jumping bean! I have always been a very sweet, loving girl and still love to snuggle! I would be so happy to find a relaxed home where I can grow up as part of a loving family!

Abigail Is A Well-Behaved, Playful, 10 Year Old Girl Who Loves To Cuddle!

My name is Abigail, or you can call me Gabby. I am a very friendly, confident brown female tabby who enjoys meeting new people.  I am such a playful girl, you would never guess I am now considered a senior cat (born in 2007). You may be surprised and amused to see how my short little legs can jump off the ground -- keeping active has helped me keep my nice shape. I have never met a toy I didn't like, but my favorite is the laser light. Once I get some exercise, I will love to cuddle on your lap and be brushed or just relax with you. I am well behaved and know how to use a good scratching post too.  I am great with people, but would do best in a home without other cats. I would be SO HAPPY to find a good home with someone to make me feel special again!

Meet Stone, The Brighton Ford Pet Of The Week

Stone is ready for adoption at the Humane Society of Livingston County! He's a 5-6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier Mix. White with black accents. Large body, but very fit. He is a very smart boy with so much of life ahead of him. He has not had the right home to appreciate his greatness yet. We aim to help him find that "right fit".  His coat is short, and his heart is huge...he's a big snuggle buddy.

Thank you for considering one of our pets!

Brighton Ford Pet of The Week At The Humane Society of Livingston County

Introducing...Miss Geneva, our first Brighton Ford Pet of the Week! We are glad to be able to sponsor a cage at the Humane Society of Livingston County and are excited for someone to adopt the cute Rhodesian Ridgeback mix Geneva and bring her to her furever home this holiday season!

By sponsoring a cage at The Humane Society of Livingston County's shelter, you help ensure a safe, temporary home for a deserving pet until they find their forever, permanent home. You can sponsor a cat cage, small dog cage, or large dog run for one year or make a multiple year commitment.
